Week of Miracles

This has been suck an amazing week!!!!! I don't have a lot of time to write but I want to tell you all about Larry.Larry is an investigator we picked up this week and it's pretty awesome how we found him. He was a door knock. My second day in the field we were visiting some less-active members and Sister Nielsen told me right after we had visited them to pick a door and knock on it. So I did. Larry answered the door. We asked him if we could share a message with him and he started to tear up. He told us that his wife had just died from cancer but he wanted us to come back next week. We went back on tuesday this week and boy was Larry diferent. He opened the door and his face immediately lit up. We told us that we had caught him at a perfect time! We began teaching him and found out that before his wife had passed they were both looking at going back to church. Before we even got into the lesson he told us he was going to come to church on Sunday and "check this whole thing out". We started teaching Larry the Plan of Salvation but before we could get to the "what happens after death" part he had to leave. This made Sister Nielsen and I super nervous because we didn't know what he thought or if he was confused or anything. The next day we went back to his house to finish up the Plan of Salvation but that isn't what happened. Larry was having a really hard day and as soon as we sat down he just started to cry. He talked to us about his wife and we just listened. We shared a thought or a scripture every once in a wile but for the most part we just listened. Then all of the sudden Larry turns to us and says," now you need to know something, I want to get baptized. Maybe not tomorrow but somewhere in this experience I need to be baptized". Sister Nielsen and I were speechless. We had taught him nothing and he wanted to be baptized! How is this possible? I don't know what is going to happen with Larry. I really hope he comes to understand the gospel and does get baptized but I do know one thing, the Lord is working on everyone. He is not going to give us a trial or even let us go through this life without preparing us first. Larry has been so prepared. Prepared to turn to the Lord with the passing or his wife, prepared to feel the spirit so strongly in his life at such a hard time, and prepared for the blessing this gospel can bring into his life. I love all of you and pray for you each and everyday. Know that the Lord is working on you. Even if you don't see it or understand it. He never gives up on his children. I hope you are all excited for Christmas. If you havn't go watch the Light the World video on lds.org It's amazing!Love you all!Sister Rich
