Hello Hello! This week flew by as always, cant believe its pday again!!
Crazy things keep happening but its been great and I know that God loves us all and answers our prayers!
I need to start out by telling you this story! I am thoroughly convinced that it is revelation. So you know how I talk a lot about how my hair is falling out like crazy? Well, I know this sounds kinda silly and it is something that maybe I shouldn't be focusing on too much or even praying about, but it is something that I think about and concerns me at times and so recently I have just been praying to Heavenly Father to just ask him to help me to not lose so much hair and what I can do! haha so anyways earlier this week and last week I have been praying and talking to Sister Osmun about it and she is probs just sick of me (she's like cant wait till shes gone) lol jk hope not. WELL, on Thursday, our appointment cancelled with Michael, and so we decided to walk around and talk to some people and visit people around the area. There was this one elderly guy (in his 90's) that was referred to us by his neighbor. we went over once before and gave him a pamphlet to read, and so we decided to go back to follow up with him! BTW, he is just the funniest old guy ever. But the most amazing thing is,
okay first, he didn't read the pamphlet so we felt like we should just read it to him, so we start reading and begin teaching the first discussion.
Okay now, at this point about 10-15 minutes into our conversation as I am teaching and testifying about the first vision, he stops me and out of NO WHERE, pointing to me, he says you know your hair reminds me of my sister's, it's long, straight, blonde, and there is not enough of it!!!!" HAHAHAH I couldn't believe it, Sister Osmun and I look at eachother and we just start laughing. then Mr. David Smith starts laughing because he hardly knows whats going on anyways, but because we were laughing he joins in. haha I had my hair in a braid and he just kept telling me that I didn't have a lot of hair and that I had so many flyaways. He then begins to tell me what I can do for a solution, (answer to my prayers) So today for pday, we went to the store and bought a 100% boar bristles brush and I have been trying to keep my hair out of a braid and just straight, not messing with it too much. But it was just so funny, that just randomly this old man tells me how to keep my hair on my head. Who knows if it will even work but it was a tender mercy :) hahahaha so funny. Mr. David Smith... wont forget that man. I .. he's a character. :)
Any who! This week was eventful, I had to give a talk in the YSA and it went pretty good I think, we didn't have anytime to prepare, so I just found some quotes and scriptures, prayed really hard for inspiration and guidance and just winged it! All is well, I am still here so I think it turned out okay!
We set Steven with a date for June 24th!! What a miracle! He came to church on Sunday and is still reaching for that goal but its been really hard trying to meet with him because his job is in the school business and high school and college graduations are this week so he's busy finishing up the school year, but he is really prepared so we will just keep pressing forward with faith!!
While we were visiting someone in downtown La Jolla, we stopped someone and at first he was not too thrilled to talk to us, but we brought up conversation and ended up talking about where he was from! He is from a little town just outside Huntington, Long Island! He lives close to Billy Joel and I told him that my parents lived close to there and that we would always go to Little Vincent's pizza and he said that he goes there all the time!! and I was like NO WAY my parents named my brother after that place. haaha it was really cool, he was super excited, and we were able to help him feel a little bit more comfortable, he still wasn't interested, BUT his heart was softened and planting seeds :) haha its really cool, that we can just be placed in people's paths at random times in random places to make a difference.
there was a situation that happened this past week that I am not going to talk much about but it was really hard and frustrating and confusing, but I just wanted to share that I know that God loves all of his children, no matter what choices we make, He is patient and loving and will always help us. Its really hard when people make decisions that you have no control over, but I know that as we put in the time, effort and practice, we can progressively grow and become better and better each day. Because of the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ, we have already been paid of our debt, he has taken care of everything for us already. But we pay him back by showing our love to him through keeping commandments, service and loving others. I am grateful for the example of our Savior who teaches us to forgive 70 times 7 to "pray for those that despitefully use you and persecute you" and to love others as he loves us. Life doesn't make sense at times, and there have been times where I question certain things and I go through hard times, but I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to bring back simple truths of the gospel and that we have a living day Prophet, Thomas S Monson that leads and guides Christ's church on the earth. And knowing that keeps me going through the hard times. and just a reminder of how good of a life we have today!
A recent convert told us one time that bumps in the road, and trials do not take away or get rid of truth. Truth is constant and we can know truth through the Holy Ghost and I am so grateful for that!
I am grateful for the sunshine that has finally come out!! :) YAY sunshine in our souls and in the sky :)
I love you all and I hope you have an amazing week! :)
