WEEK 68: Blessings in disguise

Good afternoon my beautiful friends and family!

So much happened this week I don’t even know where to begin.

Okay #1: At Missionary Leadership Counsel on Wednesday all the missionaries in leadership positions got smart phones! It’s weird I’m still getting used to it. Most of the time I make my companion hold it because I don’t know what to do with it.

#2: so you know how Sister Garrick and I used to make videos of her singing and me playing the piano and post them on Facebook? Well an acquaintance from high school messaged us asking us about the church! He was very interested so I asked if it would be okay if Missionaries in his area went over and taught him and he said YES!

#3: this week I had to take a trip back to urgent care for the same reason as why I’ve had surgery twice on my mission. I was not happy about it. I kept wondering why this was happening again and kind of having a pity party. But what I learned is that there is a purpose for everything. I asked a member if she could come with me so I wasn’t alone and when she picked me up she told me it was an answer to a prayer that I asked her for help. Her and her husband were trying to decide if they should go to Mexico or not but she doesn’t have a passport. They were praying to know if they should go and then I called so they couldn’t. Then when I got to urgent care the lady at the front desk, Keea, saw my name tag and started asking me questions about the church. She opened up and told me some miracles she has seen recently. I asked if she would like Missionaries like me to stop by and teach her more about our church and she said YES!! Then my doctor has a nephew on a mission and he thought girls didn’t serve missions so that was another missionary opportunity. It was definitely worth the trip. Heavenly Father will take not the greatest situation and turn it into something wonderful.

#5: we were able to go to the Phoenix temple for Heathers first time😊 Sister Garrick was able to come too!! It was so amazing seeing Heather in the temple, she was glowing. Heather is such an inspiration and wonderful example to me. She has such a special place in my heart.
#6: I gave a discussion at the trainer/trainee meeting. It’s crazy because half the mission is in training right now. There were over 80 Missionaries there out of 160. My discussion was on the power of faith and how we can use faith to overcome any feelings of inadequacy or fear.

#7:Transfers are tomorrow. My last transfer on my mission. Sister Parke and I will be staying together so I can finish her training. Time flies by so fast. I’m grateful for a wonderful companion like Sister Parke.

Mosiah 2:41 “And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.”

In my discussion I talked about how true happiness comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ. I testify that everything that scripture says is true.
I love you all! Talk to you next week!
