Week 1 MTC

Hello everyone:
This week has felt like five months! The first couple of days were so overwhelming but SO good! I love my companion. Her name is Sister Skousen. We met each other on instagram so it's awesome how we already knew each other. She is always so happy which is exactly what I need. I have already learned more this past week than I have my entire life. I've had to learn to forget myself and focus on the Lord. The first day they gave us a dot to put on our name tag so the other missionaries know it's our first day, everyone was so kind and going out of their way to help us. Most of the time we sit in a classroom and just have lessons. My teachers are amazing! I learned that I am not the teacher or the converter, the Holy Ghost is. Jesus Christ will always be my first and constant companion. I love learning new insights on things that I grew up learning about. Like repentance isn't just asking God for forgiveness, it's about committing yourself to Christ and acting upon his teachings. When times get hard KEEP GOING! Always rely on Jesus Christ by involving him in your life EVERYDAY! It's hard not comparing yourself to others, but I'm learning to be patient with myself. Sunday was probably one of the hardest days for me. But by the end of the night my testimony grew immensely. My whole purpose as a missionary is to bring joy to others. I attended a devotional that night, and I learned that God speaks your language. We watched a video called Peace in Christ, and I would encourage you all to watch it, it's incredible! We listened to a talk Elder Bednar gave, and he taught me that having a testimony is not enough. We need to be converted to God by acting as he would. Me and my companion got called to be the new SISTER TRAINING LEADERS!! I gained a new perspective of what the Book of Mormon is and how to explain it to people who have never heard of it. The book of Mormon is just each of the prophets journal entries. I don't think I have ever prayed more in my life. God answers all of your prayers, I have loved teaching the investigators about prayer and ways to communicate to Heavenly Father. One of my favorite thing to do is play volleyball in the gym. Thank you for all your love and support. I appreciate all the prayers! I love you all and hope you have an incredible week! Don't forget to read your scriptures! Ps the food here is disgusting so I've been eating tide pods to fill me up ;)
