Pearl City (Sister Makihele)

Mafileiola Makihele

transfer #2!

Aloha everyone!
The weeks are flying by here in Pearl City. I can't believe that I've been on a mission for 2 months!!! what in the world!!! I love being a missionary and am so grateful to be here. (sorry I know you're probably tired of hearing that but I will say it in every email.) this week was just another week! lot's of rain as usual. :) I got to speak in Sacrament meeting at church this week about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It was a super intimidating topic, but it is a topic very dear to my heart. They gave me a lei so I guess that means I did an alright job in my talk haha. ;) I included a picture of me with it- my first official Hawaiian lei! also this week I parallel parked for the first time- without incident. the space was huge but it was a monumental event for me so I made my companion take a pic of me haha. I'll include that too. we did a bit of walking this week, so enjoy the picture of us sweating our faces off. everyone jokes that the Hawaii Honolulu mission is a "40 pound mission" because everyone feeds us so much. we get our extra cardio by walking a ton.
a quote I heard this week that I LOVE is by Elder Holland, he said, "the future of this world has long been declared. the final outcome between good and evil is already known. there is absolutely no question to who wins because the victory has already been posted on the scoreboard. the only really strange thing in all of this is that we are still down here on the field trying to decide which team's jersey we want to wear." As a missionary, it is my job to wear the jersey of Jesus Christ every day and invite others to do the same. I would invite all of you to evaluate which jersey you are wearing and make the necessary changes to come to the winning team. Our Savior Jesus Christ ALWAYS wins, His side brings safety and love. I love all of you so much! Have a great week <3
