Chaos - What's New

Aloha every one! This week was CRAZY!
It started with exchanges with Sister Tychingco. She has been on her mission for 5 weeks now and is just a ball of energy. She is from the Philippines and tried all day to teach me Tagalog. Didn't work out so well...
Then we moved houses AGAIN and that was an all day affair. But I am grateful to have a home that isn't falling apart! Hawaiian construction is sometimes questionable haha.
Then we went on exchanges again. I was with Sister Heath. Her and her companion recently took over the Waimanalo Ward so I had a fun day showing her around Waimanalo and introducing her to all of the investigators there. It was really great to see all of them, but sad to tell them it was just for the day :(
Then on Saturday we spent the whole day doing service. The first was at a Heiau in Kailua. A Heaui is an ancient Hawaiian temple. They built huge mountains of rocks that they would carry from other sides of the island. This Heiau is around 1,000 years old. The Chiefs of the village would go to the top of them and perform ceremonies according to the needs of the people. Whether it be for growing food, health, safety, etc. It was really neat to learn a little more about the culture here.
Sunday was Mother's Day and our ward made sure to give us gifts too. It was really nice, but made me feel old. I've never been considered old enough to receive the mothers day treat before haha.
On a more spiritual note... a scripture I read this week in the Book of Mormon is Jacob 4:10 "... seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth in wisdom..."
On my mission I really have learned that the Lord really does know best. Sometimes I find myself praying and asking "are you sure....?" But I know He is sure. Trusting in Him is a lot easier said than done, but we can be confident in Him.
I love you all! I love my family! Yesterday I got to talk to them and it was great! My brother looks so old and my parents look so young ;) thank you for the love and support. Have the best week!
