Sister Tucker

This Week in Omsk

This week has been so much fun! President Lamb came to Omsk on the 22nd and spoke in our branch. He also did temple recommend interviews and my companion helped translate for some first-time temple goers. It was great!

Last week on P-day we bought groceries for 2 weeks because this week we wanted as much time as possible because we are going to have a SUPER EPIC P-DAY! It starts right after we finish emailing. We're gonna go rent some bikes, visit a provoslavny temple, shop in a renic. It's gonna be so fun!

We organized a primary activity for Pioneer Day and we actually had 6 kids show up! I don't know how many kids are in the Primary, but we had a less-active kid show up. He's not baptized, but he's the right age, so we think if we commit him to baptism the parents will be more willing to bring him to church. We were glad he came!
We got one of our investigators to come to church 2 weeks in a row! The first week he came because we told him President Lamb was going to be there, which was awesome. The next week he came because there was a former missionary coming to Omsk for a visit with her parents and we thought that would be a good reason to get him to church. Maybe we can get him to come next week somehow.

We have had so many finding miracles this week! Sister Tucker set a goal to get one new person to work with every day, weather it be a former investigator, or a referral from the branch, or a non-active, or someone completely new. Last night right before 9 o'clock the phone rang and it was a potential that Sister Tucker and her former companion had met with 3 months ago. They said they wanted to learn more about the church! It's been so awesome here in Omsk! The work is moving forward!

Yesterday we had a lesson with one of our investigators after church. She took us home and we helped her make dinner. We made these things called перошки (peroshki). They are kind of like a fried dumpling with фарш (farsh) inside. фарш is ground meat, usually chicken. They were really good, but really filling and she made me eat 4. I did not want any more food for the rest of the day.

Oh, it's been a good week! The weather is starting to cool down. It's not long now before I get to experience the infamous Siberian Winter! (can you tell I'm just slightly excited?)
I love you all and I hope you have good experiences this week.
