Drop the Net

Hello! I've officially made it more than a week and I am LOVING it! This week was full of really good times and a couple of hard times too. We have 6 hours of class everyday except for Sunday and Pday and it's a lot, but I've already learned so so much which is so cool. This week we started TRCs which means teaching resource center. Sister Yates and I prepared a lesson for someone who is interested in the gospel and then were able to share it! The first lesson was pretty rocky. But the second lesson was so cool. We were able to connect a lot more with her and share the restoration and tell her of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for her and her eyes lit up! Every time we testify of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon the Holy Ghost is so strong. Something that I've learned is that I am not the teacher in the lessons. The Holy Ghost is. I just need to be prepared with the information so I can be reminded of what I need to share!
We have lots of fun at the MTC too. I love my companion and roommates and district! We sit together at all the meals and laugh about anything and everything. It's been very fun to make great friends! Also one of the elders in our districts dad is a project manager here so we wave at him from our classroom and that's always a highlight haha.
This past fast Sunday was a little rough at the beginning because I hadn't slept well the night before and I was a little hangry, but then we had the best devotionals! We got to hear from the BYU basketball coach Bro Pope and some of the players and his wife. His wife talked about being all in and he talked about Peter dropping the nets to follow the Savior. I loved that phrase. I've been trying to think more about how I can align my will with my Father in Heaven's because I know that He loves each of us so much that whatever He has planned for us will bring so much joy into our lives! I would encourage you all to examine your lives and see if there's something that could help you to become happier, I know that the Lord will bless you for it!
I love being a missionary, I love Jesus Christ, I love Heavenly Father, I love that I am growing, I love that I have the opportunity to feel the Holy Ghost so consistently and I am so excited for all that's to come! Thank you so much for all the love and prayers and support! Have the best week!!
Love, Sister Hendricks
