Hermana Taufatofua

Touching Hearts and Halloween

Happy Halloween!

I hope you all had a fun one! Turned out that lots of Uruguayos actually do go trick or treating so we carried little candies in our bags and handed them out throughout the day and then stood outside our house for a minute giving out the rest! It was super fun to see the little kids all dressed up! :) The highlight was a members daughter singing us the "This is Halloween" song, in English, she's only 2 years old!!

The week went by so fast and we had so much to do! There were divisions with the other Hermana's, an activity in the ward and lots of service! (a family moving and helping clean the church) Hermana Taufatofua and I also saw so many miracles this week!

We are teaching this one woman who has come to church before with her aunt but it has been years and she stopped coming because her aunt moved away. This week we felt like we should have a charla in the church to give her a little tour and help her feel comfortable again in coming on Sunday. We had a charla scheduled and we went to pick her up to come to the church! We went over and she told us she had to run to the store to buy some things and we were like, it will only take 10 minutes, will you come? And she agreed!! We went over and had a SUPER AWESOME charla in the church! We showed her and her little 1 yr old daughter around then sat in the chapel to share a scripture about the sacrament. As we talked with her about the Sacrament, she told us that she actually had never felt like Jesus Christ lived and never understood the need of a Savior in her life! It was such an amazing chance to testify to her that she does have a savior and that she can feel so by coming close to him, by coming to HIS house. The spirit was so strong and none of us wanted to leave that room. I know that the Lord blessed our efforts because we were able to understand her in a different way and help her feel the spirit :)

Another experience we had was that Hermana Taufatofua and I decided that we were not going to tell anyone that we were missionaries this week, instead we would show them by our words and actions that we are His servants! IT was amazing! :) We saw that people would open up to us in the middle of the street and we felt the spirit more in our daily contacts :) I know that we are all disciples of Jesus Christ, each of us have taken his name upon us! I know that when I love and serve the Spirit guides me :) I love the scripture in 2 Nephi 32:9. As we center our lives on Christ and pray for His spirit to guide us, We are given the guidance and "he will consecrate thy performance unto thee". So pray and do good! You will be amazed that the Lord will use you to be his instruments:)

I love you all so much!
Thank you for all the One year mark wishes!! :) I can't believe it has already been one year!! It really flies by when you're having fun! :)
