I know I have been saying this for all of 2019, but can we just say that this YEAR flew by, YES. This year was one of the most special years of my life, to be here serving in Uruguay and have been able to serve in Brazil. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to 2019 because of just how many amazing memories and experiences I was blessed to have. Not just I have been blessed but it is been more amazing to see just how much the gospel really does improve and strengthen the lives of other people!! I can firmly say that Jesus Christ church has been restored on the earth today and that He has called a Prophet to lead and guide us today. :) I know that He is the Savior of each of us and helps us make it through this life safely, if we do what He says. I hope that we can all become a little more loving, caring and remember Christ more in this New Year. I know that is the way we can truly find the peace and joy we are looking for! Let's make 2020 a 20 out of 20 ;)
This week was great! I almost got licked in the face by a dog, almost touched by a rat, and almost killed by 100 degree weather. The only thing, we didn't get saved from was getting poured on twice in one day, during divisions!! I have never been SO wet in my whole life.... It was the best.
We also had some great experiences too!! This past week we had met a young man named Lucas. We had offered to help him paint his store and he accepted! We went to help him on the day that we decided to go and he didn't want to let us help. He did want to listen. We started talking to him about our purpose in this life because he is going through a rough time. He stopped studying to come and take over his uncles business because his uncle, unfortunately, got cancer. It was so amazing as we read Alma's conversion story that he suddenly had an interest in if we had been able to see this change in the people we have taught. We testified to him that we have been able to not only see it in the lives of those we are teaching but also in our own life. This is the power of Christ infinite atonement! He can help us change our desires and redirect our lives. Just like Alma experienced, we can pray asking for this help and forgiveness in our own lives and we will see that our hearts will be filled with this Joy! "And oh, what a joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!" Repentance is joy because we become closer to God, thus becoming closer to our divine potential as his children! :) We invited Lucas to come to church so that he could really start this journey to finding his true potential and HE CAME!! It was such a strong testimony to me of following the spirit so that we can teach according to the needs of each person. Heavenly Father really does know our hearts!
I hope you all have a great week and have some AWESOME goals to accomplish this year!
Love you all!
We had dinner on New Year's Eve at a members house with the Zone Leaders. It was the best barbecued meat I have ever tasted.
2020 can't believe it!!
New Years Eve fun with missionaries from another area that were having their own barbecue next door at our members sons house. Fun to finish off the night with them.
