This was a big week for me and Hermana Lobos in Quarai and for our dear friends Gecica and Johnathan! We had a WEDDING and a BAPTISM! The wedding was a lovely night and everything worked out well, in the end! :) Because whenever you are trying to do the right thing there is opposition, no? The Bride came an hour late and they forgot the rings but they got married!! :) I loved what the Branch President shared before the ceremony, that now as husband and wife they are one, that they should strive for unity and look to progress together. It was so sweet because he talked about the Temple about the chance to be an eterna familyl! I'm so amazed and grateful for the chance to teach and grow with this family! They are amazing. The chance to see them change has honestly changed my life! I always knew that the Atonement of Jesus Christ had POWER, but now I know that it's not just for me that he suffered and died but also for them, for all of us! I know that it's by the power of the Spirit of God that they gained a testimony sufficiant to make the sacrifices to come unto Christ. It's by the Spirit that they will continue strong until they get to the Temple to be sealed as an eternal family!
A week ago, Gecica was trying to stop smoking, she had gotten down to one a day but just couldn't stop. After our lesson last week, she told us that she said a prayer and sat for a good while pondering about what we had said, we had talked about Faith and overcoming tabacco. She said that she felt worried that she wouldn't be worthy to be baptized and in her prayer she asked Heavenly Father to help her know if she should be baptized, and if she should... that He would help her stop smoking, RIGHT THEN. She told us that after this occasion she lost all desire to smoke. And from that day on she stopped smoking! After 4 months of trying to stop all it took was a prayer of faith with a sincere desire to act. I know that Heavenly Father knows each of us. I know that he loves his children so much and he helps us overcome our addictions, problems and worries. He lives! I'm so grateful for Gecicas faith!!
This week we got changes!! I got the call to................. TRAIN and OPEN area in Paysandu, URGUGUAY!! I'm super excited to be able to help a NEW missionary and super AMAZED, haha :) I'll have to switch my brain to Spanish again! I have absolutely loved my time in Quarai, Brazil. I have LEARNED so much, GROWN and SERVED and STAND ALL AMAZED at the LOVE JESUS OFFERS ME! :)
Love you all so much!!
Have a wonderful week!!
