Hermana Smith

Curve Ball this Week

This week was a great week! We just finished another change, its amazing how the changes of 6 weeks go by sooooo quickly! I'm amazed!

ALSOOOO CURVE BALL... Hermana Smith and I got changes and we are not going to stay together! I'm going to stay in Quarai and am going to recieve Hermana Lobos from Chile!! And Hermana Smith is leaving to Paysandu. I'm excited and little bit shocked but all is well because we believe in Revelation and Inspiration, RIGHT? :) I will miss her!!!

This week I just wanted to share my thoughts about somethings that I learned from this last change, things that have helped me learn and grow and understand the Lords work. The spirit is the key to our job as missionaries. This week we were in a charla with a woman that we had just met, we taught the Restoration and invited her to be baptized, I felt the spirit, but she declined the invitation to be baptized. I began to explain about the priesthood and then invited her again.... But the answer was still no. We prayed and then left. Afterward, I realized that we weren't teaching in a way that was personally spiritual for her. I forgot about the ONE by ONE way that Christ teaches, he deals with our worries and stresses individually. I realized that I was too focused on convincing this woman with MY words and not with HIS Spirit. Through the Spirit we can come to know our Savior and by coming to know our Savior we become better people, we become children of Christ like we read in
Mosiah 5:7. :) That is the purpose of missionary work, invite others to come unto Christ! I'm so grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost, to help us get to know our Savior and to have the chance to recieve a remission of our sins. It really is a gift from our loving Heavenly Father and it is through him that we touch the hearts of those who don't know the gospel, our Brothers and Sisters. I know that the Spirit has this power, the power to change hearts. Not only that but also help us know what to say and what to do. I'm humbled and amazed at the amount of times this past change where my mouth has been filled with words, PORTUGUESE words haha, and I have known what to do. I love what PMG says about the Spirit, that it should be one of the most sought after and treasured blessings of Heavenly Father, because it is true!! Our life can be full of light and peace as we seek to have the companionship of the Holy ghost!

I love this work my friends. I love my Savior. I'm so happy to be representing Him. :)
Thank you for your support and love always!!

Horse, cart, man standing in cart, see everywhere

Hermana Smith got a new jacket this week and now people think we are
Sisters. Seriously, We get asked all the time if she is my sister or how we are related!

Highlight of the week....YEP I got stuck in some mud......

We did some service and cleaned up a Club.... one of the people we are teaching lives next to a Night club and the deal to live there is they have to clean up the club every week! We cleaned up a lot of beer bottles and left smelling only a LITTLE bit like beer! It was a good time!!

Our church is still dealing with flood issues so we went to the ward near by. Me with the other missionaires from our branch and the ward we attended.
