Hola Minha Familia e Amigos! Tudo ben aqui em Quarai! This week was beautiful!! The sun was shining and it only started to rain towards the end of the week!! It was wonderful! Our church actually had some flooding problems so we switched chapels for this week and went to the church about 15 minutes away from ours, with the ward in Santa Helena! Don't worry our Chapel is okay just a little bit of water came in from the roof and our President of the Branch decided it was best to combine for this week. It was the first time in about 6 months that I was in a ward on Sunday! There were about 100 people there. It was incredible. There is a real power when so many faithful saints gather together on Sunday to participate in the Sacrament! The spirit in that Sacrament meeting was so strong.
This week was a great one honestly. It was a week of hard work! We had divisions again and I got to be with Hermana Lyman! She's serving in Artigus and doesn't know any portuguese! We got to work in my area and it was super fun! It was super fun to see the reactions of people as we tried to talk to them in portuguese! I know the gift of tounge is real haha! I learned a lot about just opening our mouths and having no fear! There's a cool promise in D&C 31 to the saints that do open their mouths:
6 Behold, verily I say unto you, go from them only for a little time, and declare my word, and I will prepare a place for them.
7 Yea, I will open the hearts of the people, and they will receive you. And I will establish a church by your hand;
I'm so grateful for this promise! And I know it's not only for us missionaries! It's for all those who are disiples of Jesus Christ! :) I know he will open the hearts of the people and that he will perform miracles as we open our mouths and declare His gospel! We are the defendors of the plan of Heavenly Father!
I read a quote by Joseph Smith this week that talked about Faith. That a person who can understand the personality of God and his characteristics will be able to have a perfect Faith! I love that! I have noticed that power is in the story of the restoration. We share the story of Joseph Smith with people everyday and always always always, no matter where we are teaching, in the street, in a house, in a store, I always feel one thing, PEACE. This week we were teaching this one woman named Ellen. She's a single mom with a 4 year old son. She's super awesome. As we were talking about this young boy, Joseph Smith, who had such a profound question, I was overcome with such a profound Peace. A feeling of love for our Heavenly Father, that he knew the needs of this young boy and that he really did have a plan for the whole world! This is the charater of our Heavenly Father! He is all knowing, loving, long suffering, patient, giveth to all men and he is most importantly OUR Father. I know that He loves us and wants our success. I know he gave us this gospel to help us learn and grow and to find joy in our Families! This is his Character! :) I hope all of you can learn more about OUR Heavenly Father's character this week because he is amazing and more importantly he wants you to know HIM! :)
Love you all so much!
