I figured it's about time I update everyone and and tell you I'm alive and well! I love it here in Uruguay! My first area is Sarandi del Yi. I'm going to be here for a while because my training is 12 weeks, which is great because it love it! Outside of the central part of town is all fields, little homes, and, animals. There are a lot of dogs roaming around (it's true, dogs don't like missionaries) but it's not uncommon to see a horse taking itself for a walk of a cow or sheep to be tied to someone's front gate. Here, we don't knock doors, we clap because everyone has gates so you have to clap so people can hear you!
The members here are awesome! There is not very many, but they are wonderful. They provide lunch for us most days of the week. I don't want to test my luck, but I haven't had anything weird. Cow and sheep tongue are popular here, so I hope I just keep being lucky!
My trainer in Hermana Compas. She's from Idaho and she's awesome. We are working hard here and teach whomever will listen! As for the Spanish, well, it's coming along. It's been a humbling experience, but I love having the opportunity to learn and teach in Spanish!
