Spring Forward, Fall Back!

Hola mis seres queridos!
Espero que tuvieron una buena semana! This week was awesome!

TUESDAY: Our mission President has given us permission again to do an hour of our own family history during the week! We went to the family history center and got some help to start researching and finding family - it was so fun! At first it was pretty tedious and results didn't look to promising but I learned a lot about navigating through FamilySearch and Ancestry.com. Hermana Openshaw and I didn't want to leave, we wanted to find out who these people were! Recently we've talked a lot about the blessings of doing family history work; they are amazing! If you are in need of more blessings in your life, look up the blessings that come from family history work, then do it!

We also taught Jose and he said the best things I've heard all week - we told him that all the Missionaries in our zone were fasting and praying to have 10 baptisms this month and he said, "Well, you only have to fast for 9 because I'm going to be one of them." *insert so happy I almost fainted* 🙃 He is on date for the 25th of this month!!! We are so happy and excited for him, he has changed SO MUCH since we've met him!!

WEDNESDAY: We taught mutual this week (youth class) and just had them ask us questions about ourselves or about being Missionaries. When we did introductions, they were in partners and they had to say their name, age, grade and if their partner was a Disney character, who would they be? Hermana Openshaw said I was Dory and I said she was Wendy from Peter Pan. All the youth kept telling me I was Moana and I was like, "I'VE NEVER SEEN IT. I'M ON A MISSION." Haha!

We showed them the video I sent last week and showed them how to do Missionary work in less than 5 minutes! Afterwards we had them send it or share it with someone!

THURSDAY: We had a pass off lesson with the Elders to teach Maria. She was our most progressing investigator but she doesn't live in our area so we will keep going to some lessons while she adjusts to the Elders and a new ward (congregation).

FRIDAY: District meeting and interviews with the Stake President! President and Sister Guffey came down to El Paso for interviews and our Stake Conference this weekend. There was an Area 70 visiting and he totally put me and Hermana Openshaw on the spot. His name is Elder Greer and he called us up to answer some questions and my mind completely blanked. I just handed the microphone to Hermana Openshaw and she SAVED me because I could not think for the life of me. Our investigator Jose was joking, "They put me on the spot all the time, it's about time someone asked THEM some questions."

Stake Conference was SUPER good. SUPER inspired - definitely a lot of things I needed to hear. Afterwards Elder Greer and President Guffey greeted Jose. He received a Priesthood blessing to help him work towards his baptism in two weeks! We are so excited for him!

Sorry, no pictures this week 🙁 but I love you all and hope you are enjoying spring!

Con mucho amor,
Hermana Bigley
