To Albuquerque and Back Again - a Missionary's tale

Holy guacamole this week has been adventurous!🌮

Last Pday we went to Red Sands out farther East in our area. It's basically just what it sounds like: Lots of sand. We played some soccer out there and took some cool pictures. It's the closest to the beach I've ever been on my mission and yet the farthest........but it was fun!

We've been preparing a lot this week for the musical fireside we are going to have this weekend. It seems like we'll have a pretty good turnout from the Stake! We spent several hours making musical themed decorations - we are excited!

We also went to Albuquerque again this week for another special meeting. We got to see missionaries from all over the mission - which doesn't usually happen; super fun! Brother Donaldson was a former mission president who came and trained us on a lot of the changes that will be coming to missionary work. It was nice to receive some training to help us stabilize ourselves and figure how exactly we can adapt our teaching skills.

The main focus was the Doctrine of Christ; applying it to every facet of the work. Brother Donaldson noted that "giving information and offering salvation are two very different experience for investigators". Heavenly Father trusts us so much! Sometimes it's hard to believe, but He probably gave us the greatest expression of trust that we could ever have. It makes our time here on Earth the ultimate test of learning how to put complete trust in Him.

Now that we don't count lessons anymore as a key indicator, we've probably taught the most lessons ever!! We've been super busy between members, meetings, investigators, etc. But the extra hour of sleep at night really helps! 😃

We also have Zone Conference tomorrow and we're giving a training on the importance of the Book of Mormon! We made a video and asked some members and investigators about their experience and testimonies of the Book of Mormon. Brother Donaldson reminded us that, "There's something divine about this book, it's perfectly designed for conversion. God's tutorial on the Doctrine of Christ." My testimony of the Book of Mormon has become deeper on my mission as I've come to see the power it has in changing people's lives - including my own! When you have a spare moment, read it!

Love you all! Happy Valentine's Day!

Love,
Hermana Bigley
