And They Did Fast and Pray Oft

This week has been full of fasting and praying! We started with a fast for our investigators and our own strength and how we could more fully follow the Lord's will for our area and ward. We had some miracles literally walk right into the church! Last Tuesday while we were having zone sports with all the other missionaries a family walked in looking for how they could learn more and be involved in the church! Well boy do we have the answer for you... Their names are Ruben and Lalis; a son and mother - there is also another son named Adrian who we haven't yet met. We had a first lesson with them the day after and will see them again today. They have family that are members in Farmington, New Mexico and attended church there with them and have since become interested. We prayed in the beginning of October for the baptismal goal that Heavenly Father wanted us to set and we both felt: 3. We are continuing to work hard towards that goal and see the fruits of our labor!

We also started a 40 day fast in our ward where a member or family has signed up for the next 40 days to fast and pray for missionary work and missionary opportunities. My testimony of fasting and prayer has increased so much as we see miracles and blessings flowing in from every OYM, member and prayer.

We also had Stake Conference this weekend where we got to hear from the Stake President and his counselors. They talked a lot about the proper use of technology, missionary work and the doctrine of Christ - implementing the new teaching method the church has made called: "Learning and Teaching in the Lord's Way". We also had two investigators at church that day! Woohoo!

We have transfers next Tuesday, but we know we are being split up because Hermana Thompson received a training call this morning!! ...But it's OK, we just don't know who is going where... I'm pretty sure I'm getting transferred! So we'll see where I am next week! Hermana Thompson's going to have a daughter and I'm going to be a grandma!

To explain last week's email title: "Everything Is Hard Until It Becomes Easy." We had training on how anything is really hard until we work at it with practice and time and knowing HOW to do it. As in the wise words of Harry Potter; "Think about it, every great wizard has started out as nothing more than ourselves - if they can do it, why not us?!" OK - that was my unconsecrated quote for the day.

Love you all! Happy October!
