This week was quite the busy one! We had tons of lessons and lots of spiritual growing experiences: General Conference and the Temple! We also have two investigators on baptismal date for the 8th and 15th of October! Heavenly Father has blessed us with great tender mercies!
The Women's Session of General Conference was great! All the talks were very inspired and edifying. I loved President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk about two missionaries serving in Germany. They went to contact a four apartment building knocking every floor and every door until the 4th floor, last door, where they found a young girl who went to talk to her mother. After persuading her mother to let them come back both the mother and her daughter were baptized in the following weeks. President Uchtdorf commented, "How often do I lift up my heart, that those missionaries knocked until the 4th floor last door." - that this young girl would later become his wife and affect his family for generations.
The theme of his talk focused much on faith, such as: " I wish to speak of faith; what it is. What it can and cannot do...It is a conviction that drives us to do things that we may not do...We often ask, 'Why can't my faith accomplish that?'...Faith is certainly powerful, but there are two things faith cannot do; It cannot violate another person's agency... and it cannot force our will upon God...Faith is to empower us to act upon God's will. Trust that God sees what I cannot. It means that we trust not only in God's wisdom, but in God's love."
It was great to spend a day at the temple. The spirit was so powerful and we reflected as a missionaries on how we can help our investigators feel the same power that comes from attending the House of the Lord! I hope you all reflect on the temple and what a great opportunity we have to go there and participate in the enabling power of the Atonement that we feel when we are there. President Guffey encouraged us to have our investigators go and at least "touch the temple, because even if they can't go inside, it will touch them." I can testify that Christ lives and that He loves us just as our Father in Heaven does. Heavenly Father wants His children to return home. And it's not something we have to wait for until after this life. Love you all! Have a great week! WATCH GENERAL CONFERENCE!😃🌮✌🦄🐙🎃
