Spiritually Obese

This week has been so spiritually full!! We're getting spiritually obese over here!

Wednesday we had exchanges with the 4th Ward English Sisters! I went to 4th Ward's area with Sister Almond - we had a blast! They had a ton of media referrals so we spent all day trying to contact them but none were there We also treated ourselves to Thai food/ sushi and mango sticky rice. Need I say more? 😏

THURSDAY! Thursday was the best day ever!! Zone Conference! It is always so fun too meet up again with the other missionaries and be spiritually edified. The Zone Leaders and Mission Presidency gave great trainings. This was also President and Sister Miller's last Zone Conference... 😩 As President and Sister Miller gave concluding remarks the spirit was INCREDIBLY strong. They both bore strong witness and love for the Missionaries they had served over. There was not a dry eye in the room as we dreaded saying goodbye to our Mission President and his wife. I am so grateful for President and Sister Miller - another pair of adopted parents in Zion. They will be dearly missed but we are excited to welcome President Guffey and his wife in July!

Friday we were able to give service with our district! We have been helping to tidy up a house for a lady who has just had her last chemo treatment. Her Aunt is in charge of the project and her and her husband made us an authentic Mexican dish - pico de gallo with chorizo, bacon, chicken and pork in flour tortillas! So delicious! I'm afraid I will never get over Mexican food.....

Saturday we were contacting (knocking on doors) in a neighborhood where we had a couple potential investigators. We knocked on a member's door by accident and they let us in for a visit. They are an older couple that goes to 4th Ward - so kind! They used to serve in the mission presidency here many years ago, and I loved hearing their stories of serving with Missionaries and their own experience as Missionaries. They were so tender, it made me miss my dear grandparents. ❤ I am so grateful for the wisdom and knowledge they shared - a loving spirit!

Investigators are doing well! We have been struggling to help them get to church on Sunday. But sometimes coming to church really determines their level of commitment to accepting and acting upon the gospel of Jesus Christ. However this week has been spiritually full! It brings to mind Moroni 10...

10:5 And the church did meet together oft, to fast and to pray, and to speak one with another concerning the welfare of their souls.
10:9 And their meetings were conducted by the church after the manner of the workings of the Spirit, and by the power of the Holy Ghost; for as the power of the Holy Ghost led them whether to preach, or to exhort, or to pray, or to supplicate, or to sing, even so it was done.

As my companion would say - the Holy Ghost is my best friend! I hope that you all have a wonderful week and seek to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost! I Love you all!

Love,
Hermana Bigley
