Service of the Win

These last couple weeks have been service weeks! Woohoo! We've been helping people clean out their yards, homes, garages, you name it. Of course no one likes a messy place, but I love helping people makes their places clean and new again! The Zone Leaders asked us to make our service time more effective and to try and have a lesson, so as we helped this family clean the backyard we were also able to teach them about prayer. We have just recently started teaching this entire family! The parents have seen missionaries for YEARS, but we decided that we needed to emphasize teaching their whole family. Sometimes it's pretty difficult to get everyone's attention and understanding; slowly but surely we are looking forward to helping them ALL receive the blessings of the gospel.

We had a baptismal service planned for this Saturday, but because of certain circumstances it will have to be postponed 🙁 BUT, that's ok! Valeria is progressing SO WELL. She keeps her commitments and is excited for baptism. I have seen her grow so much since out first lesson, she is so happy and truly has a changed countenance! She is awesome!

Unfortunately a lot of our appointment fell through this week, but we are determined next week! The mission makes you realize all the opportunities we have to start again every single day! In every moment! We plan and set goals monthly, weekly, daily - even hourly I believe! As we pray and ask God to help us in each situation! Remember that, "Now is always a good time to start again."

We were also able to see Nancy! We had been working with her a lot up until about a month ago. She bought a car and started working two jobs and was never home. But we finally saw her and hope to continue working with her now🙂

This week has been pretty interesting in terms of time. My companion will be returning home this week, as did my first companion, as well as many of my missionary friends who have been sending me their emails! It's always somewhat a snap back to reality, and the short time frame that we have as missionaries. But I'm so glad for the example of other missionaries who have gone before and for sharing their testimonies with me - whether formally or informally; thank you!

Recently I have been reading to finish the Old Testament and this morning as I finished Job I loved these verses in Job 33:

26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

27 He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;

28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

29 Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,

30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

"You can Make the Pathway Bright" has also become my favorite hymn! Light, love and happiness are all God has too offer! (We're not hippies I swear) I challenge you to find it always!

Mucho amor,
Hermana Bigley
