I had a wonderful birthday this week, thank you for all your birthday wishes! My companion made me breakfast in the morning then we went to play beisbol outside the church with the jovenes and they surprised me afterwards and sang to me with
a little cake and it was super nice. We ate with members for mediodia and then went to a cita and to contact. That night we went to the Cardona's house and they had baloons and stuff and made Colombian empanadas and a pineapple cake and it was super fun. I
felt so much love from all the members and all the wonderful people here and I am just so greatful for them.
Also this week, Luzma left to go back to Canarias. That was super sad and I miss her a lot. The best part about the mission though is that you make eternal friendships and these people, even though we will live thousands of miles away, will
be my friends forever.
We also started doing something super amazing (a ward missionary project thing) called "Inundar Santander con El Libro de Mormon." What we are doing is for every Book of Mormon that the members give to one of thier friends, they get to "inundar"
(flood) one of the missionaries with water (water baloons, a hose, water guns, etc) and we are going to make a bunch of videos and its going to be great. And the goal is to give out 100 Book of Mormons this summer! It's going to be super fun.
And really, I just love talking about the Book of Mormon and testifying and sharing the Book of Mormon. There was a great quote I read this week, I cant find it in English so here's the paraphrased version: "Moses never entered the promised
land. Joseph Smith never saw Zion redeemed. Maybe we won't live to see the world flooded with the Book of Mormon. But, God willing, I intend to spend the rest of my days dedicated to this great task." Ezra Taft Benson
Something bien fuerte about the mission is that people will straight up ask you if you really believe what you are teaching. And to be able to say that yes, really I do know with all my heart that this is true, is something very powerful. You
don't need to worry about having all the missionary skills to go on a mission, you just have to have a testimony that what you are going to go talk about is true. That's why it's so important to always be strengthening your testimony, because it will not strengthen
itself, you have to work at it every single day.
Today for preparation day we went to Bilbao and played futbol with the whole zone in this super ghetto part of Bilbao like under the highway next to where a bunch of homeless people were sleeping. It didn't smell too great and it rained a lot,
but it was a lot of fun.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week! Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes! You all are the best! Love you all!
Con Amor,
Hermana Allen
