Hola Familia y Amigos!
Happy New Year! I hope you all have a wonderful 2018! I am excited to spend this year in the service of the Lord. There is truly no where else I'd rather be.
We started this week off with an intercambio! I stayed in Terrassa and led the area and Hermana Burknicky from Georgia came to be my companion for the day.
We had an AMAZING cita with a mujer increible named Rocio. We taught her the plan of salvation and at one point I felt prompted to share Alma 7:11-13 (

with her. I did, and I bore my testimony about how our Savior knows us and He knows exactly how we feel, and he is there to help us, to run to us, to comfort us, and to love us - always, no matter what. She started to cry and it was one of the most powerful
moments I've had on my mission so far. I just felt so blessed that Heavenly Father could use me to show his love to his precious daughter, Rocio.

This week we did an English fast for like 4 days so that was fun (Lisa here: A "english fast" means they didn't speak any english for 4 days!). And we spent a lot of time with Rosario because she is back from the hospital and the residency.
We had a great Noche de Hogar with a wonderful family and gave their kids little Libro de Mormons and it was so fun to see them open them and just start reading right away!
Yesterday for New Year's Eve we went to the Peroni's house and ate with their family and Obispo Ferro's Family and it was a lot of fun and a lot of Argentinian food!
Also, Presidente Dayton told us that we could stay up till 12 and do the Espanola tradition of eating the grapes when the clock hits 12. So we ate some grapes at midnight to start the new year!
I have always loved New Year's because I love setting goals and starting a new year. I was thinking about 2017 and how much the Lord has blessed me. I would never have imagined a year ago that I would be where I am today, but there is nowhere
else I would rather be and I just feel so blessed for the wonderful 2017 I have had and the opportunity I have to give my 2018 to my Heavenly Father.
I hope you all can set some goals and make 2018 great! Here's a quote I LOVE from Elder Ballard about setting goals!
"I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our
full potential. When one learns to master the principles of setting a goal, he will then be able to make a great difference in the results he attains in this life.”
I hope you all have a wonderful 2018 and thank you so much for your love and prayers, for your emails and letters (especially the Christmas cards! I loved opening those), and for being a part of my life, I feel so blessed to have you all in
my life.
Love,
Hermana Allen
