Fams and friends. Como estamos? This week was great! I feel like I will probably say that every week was great despite what goes on in the week. What better way to live two years than in the service of our God? I am very grateful for the blessings of the gospel that I am experiencing right now in my life and for the blessings that are to come.
This last Wednesday we received a message that a lady in the ward was in need of a blessing. We knew who the lady was, but were not aware that she was sick. Upon arriving to her house we were informed that she had been receiving very severe pains throughout her body and that the doctors said she was at risk of dying. She was hooked up to seurox. (i forgot what it is called in english). And appeared very weak. We talked with her for a few minutes about her family and got to feel her spirit as she expressed gratitude for her family. The words that my companion said in the blessing reminded me of the power of the Atonement of Christ. He promised her that through her faith in the Atonement of Christ, her pains and sicknesses would go away. That was incredible to me, but it reminded me of the power that the Atonement brings to our lives if we are willing to use it. The Atonement heals our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual ailments. It is such a blessing to be a servant of the Lord.
We are working super incredibly hard with two jovenes, Hiram and Irina. They are brother and sister. 18 and 16. Super awesome and we have had some great experiences with them. They are the siblings that came to the temple with us. They are progressing well after much time of doubt. They had not been progressing for a while, but the thought never came to mind that we should stop visiting them as on occasion that happens. This last week they both accpeted to be baptized the 24th of August. We have had daily contact with them as they continue their search for the truth through the Book of Mormon. It is amazing to see how the Book of Mormon changes lives. I know that this book is true and I would give my life to defend it, as have others. The gospel changes lives, it has changed mine.
