Hello from Krasnoyarsk

We had a great week this week!

We went to zone conference in Irkutsk and it was so great to be back there. I got some pretty intense dejavu and I felt overwhelmingly grateful for my mission.

I know that in some people's missions they see baptisms and people going to the temple for the first time. They give out copies of The Book of Mormon everyday and teach the lessons over and over again.
Yeah that's not my mission. Sure those things happen, but my mission has been something else.
I can't even count the amount of babushki I've walked around their house with, or the amount of times I've tromped through the snow to find someone who hasn't been to church in 10 years. The mission prep classes I've taught or the coaching I've given to relief society presidents. Right now we are helping a babushka who insisted we teach her the lessons so she could teach her non member husband better.
I still haven't taught the law of chastity haha, but I've taught how to set up ministering, I've cleaned dog shelters, picked up trash in the countryside, put on activities, and made escape rooms instead.
And the greatest gift of all is the change I've seen in myself. Somehow I managed to change without realizing it. I have seen the atonement work and I've lived it too.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

I know that the Lord knows us so well and loves us!
My mission is not at all what I expected it to be but its been so good! and I know if 9 year old me could see me now, she would be so proud.
