Missionary Training Center

Sister Tucker

Say it outloud
Congratulations! You know as much Russian as I do! That is how you say "good morning" in Russian! I don't have a Russian keyboard so I cant use syrilic letters so just trust me!
WOOOOO MTC!!! Missions are the best! Also this week was the WORST cuz I had so say goodbye to all my friends going to all parts of the world!! :(
Some went to Latvia, Ukraine, Russia, Lithuania, and two sister went to Estonia... I miss them all so much! Our zone (group of kids serving missions in Eastern Europe in the MTC) went from 80 to 30! Its so lonely and quiet...
But that ok because anyone who knows me knows I am LOUD. So I make up for the 50 people! YAY
We had our last lesson with our investigator! (my teacher here who pretends to be someone interested in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and it was so sad but also AMAZING. Definitely our best lessons we have given so far. She said that she didn't really believe in the Book of Mormon, and we told her that she could have a personal knowledge from God through the Holy Ghost. We shared an amazing scripture that talks about how we can feel the holy ghost. It goes like this:
D&C 9:8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.
After we shared that scripture the Spirit was literally tangible. I could like feel it in the air around me. I was prompted to ask her how she felt right then and she said "peace" (well she said a lot of things but all I understood was peace) then my awesome companion was like "That is the Holy Ghost" and we were like all crying and it was awesome! I love crying! Thanks for that gene Mom! Also you're probably crying right now. yay tears!

Also a bunch of the new Elders are from England and they say stuff like "banter" and "proper" and it kills me and they laugh when we say words that apparantly are bad in England. Its a good time.
This Sunday ELAINE S DALTON CAME TO THE MTC TO SPEAK. It was so cool! She talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon. I loved what she said and I know that the Book of Mormon is from prophets of God. It is amazing and makes me feel God's love everytime I read it!
Sunday was great! I got asked also to be the ward Music Coordinator and then got asked to participate in this panel during a "match the message" meeting where all the new elders and sisters gather in different halls to talk about dress and grooming. It is SOOOOO cheesy! I made fun of it hardcore when I first got here. Then, later, all of the Sisters in our zone were asked to go attending again (even though we weren't new and had already seen it. Apparently there was some confusion on what was appropriate) and I said, quote "If they ever asked me to be on that panel, i would say NO." So God heard me and was like "ok sister wilcox, we will see..." And I'm on the panel for next sunday! YAYYYYYYY! God has a sense of Humor!

Also yesterday I SAW ANOTHER DOG and it was so cute and it ran up to us and I dont know if we are allowed to pet them (some places, missionaries aren't because of rabies) but I did and it made my whole week! It was great! Her name was Reeses and she was a golden retriever and SO HAPPY. We were playing volleyball at the Park next to the MTC for free time/exersise time, and she ran up and started chasing our volleyball. The owner yelled "NOOO REESES!! TAKE IF FROM HER or SHE WILL POP IT!" So I'm chasing her and all of a sudden she stopped and turned and I was running full speed and next thing I know me and Reeses were tangled in a heap on the ground. Apparently it looked like I tackled her but I didn't! I promise! Everyone was like "poor Reeses!" and I thought of Peter pan "poor Nana!" (mom, you should get that one).
This week was awesome and I was reminded over and over again that the Book of Mormon is so important! It is written for our time! I know that it is true and that it can answer questions like nothing else! I know that through prayerful study and reading of the Book of Mormon, we can know that it is true! I love this church and I love my mission! Also love all my fans out there. You the best.
See ya next week!
