How Solid is YOUR Foundation?

Subject: How Solid is YOUR Foundation?

FRIENDS AND FAMILY! :)

I love you all so so much! Thank you for keeping in touch, I love hearing about your lives! OH & Thank you to all who wrote me about the Gilbert temple cultural celebration and dedication! I saw the video on LDS.org about the celebration and just bawled! hahaha AZ PRIDE! :) I am so proud of all those youth! It was so touching to see thousands of them singing and dancing, just having a absolute blast and making the most of it even though it was pouring rain and even hail! This ended up actually kind of being the theme for my week...
This scripture worked its way into a lot of lessons. Hahah try to get past singing the primary song in your head while you read it...and maybe try changing "house" for "LIFE".

"Therefore, whoso heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock-

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them not shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand-

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it. "

Life is hard folks. Winds do blow...and floods do come..

There have been so many hard times in my own life but I KNOW that it is that foundation on gospel of Jesus Christ that has gotten me through everything. The world changes. People change. Fads and styles go in and out. But God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Christ's atonement enables us to experiance and attain true joy. It allows us happiness NOW while the world says you can only be happy when you do this..get this..have this...are this..wear this..say this...

This week we invited Chris to make that first step in building that firm foundation and be baptized and he said YES! I wish you all could have been there in that sweet tender moment. He has had it hard..his family has had it hard. We are SO EXCITED! It is the coolest thing ever to get to watch the light grow in peoples lives. Being a missionary is the coolest thing ever! WE get to watch people gain hope from beginning to end. We get to see the gospel change their life--change them.

I love this work so much! I love my Savior! I love the opporrtunity I have to grow and become better and better through His enabling atonement.

LOVE YOU ALL!

Moroni 8:3,
