Hi everyone! I hope all of you had an awesome New Year's.. i can't believe it's 2020!
This week was fun, we did a service project at the Jamorine's house and helped them plant banana trees in this giant field! It was super cool, and after we were done, we climbed trees with their kids. The parents laughed at me because I was so bad, and then the father went and climbed this HUGE tree in like 2 seconds and picked a fruit off of it and threw it down and his wife caught it... i thought "wow.. relationship goals right there" HAHA
We ate dinner at the Sarnillo's house for New Years and Nanay Helen took off work and cooked ALL day for us... she cooked this dish called "dinuguan" and its literally pork cooked in pigs blood.... yes i tried it and I know Heavenly Father helped me hold back my gag reflexes, haha.
We met a new family last week and we've been teaching them! They're so nice and they have 2 sons who normally stay in their room while we teach, but they listened this time. We asked what their names were and they both said John... apparently one's name is John Ray and the other is John Lou, so i was like "John.. and... John?" and everyone laughed at me hahaha, but their mom is always feeding us. She said she wanted to feed us a snack and she started scooping spaghetti on a plate and i thought "okay, a little spaghetti i can do that", but then she scooped 3 more scoops of it, then added 2 muffins and fruit salad and went and got us coke. People here love to feed you hahaha
Also! This week, I was feeding the cats outside some leftovers we had and as i was walking inside, my heel got caught under the door and it cut pretty deep...I'm so used to just going to my dad for help, but he's across the world! I didn't know what to do.. for those who know me, you know i was just laughing my pain away. :) We called the STL's and one is a nurse and she told me to ice it and apply pressure until she was able to get to our house... we said a prayer and by the time she arrived at our house, my cut was sealed shut. It was literally a miracle! I know Heavenly Father listens to our prayers!!
In my personal study, I was reading in Jacob chapter 5 about the servant and the Lord of the vineyard. The servant asked the Lord of the vineyard why he wanted to continue to plant this specific tree, because it was in a poor spot and it was weak. The Lord replied "I have nourished it this long time, and thou beholdest that is hath brought forth much fruit"
It made me realize that even we are at our weakest, Heavenly Father doesn't want to give up on us. He is our friend and someone to lean on and if we come unto him he will come unto us. Its a 2 way effort!
LOVE YOU ALL! Until next week...
