Sister Hamblin

Hard and Good

Hello everybody.
This week went by so fast.
I haven't been able to write in my journal or even sleep much this week.

Sister Hamblin and I went on three exchanges, we performed in two live nativities, and we had so much to do to get ready for the play and for Christmas.
There were a lot of miracles we saw on exchanges, including finding a new investigator after we knocked doors in the freezing wind for 4 hours.

On Friday night, after our stake President's famous live nativity, Sister Hamblin and I talked to President Christiansen and he told us that we needed to start passing off all our investigators to the Elders and start cleaning out our apartment because he was shutting our area down on the 28th. Apparently there are too many Sister Missionaries going home and not enough coming in. I kept it together until we got in a squished mini van where I was sandwiched between Sister Hamblin and Elder Larsen and I cried so hard that night, harder than I've probably cried my whole mission.
I cried because
1) We've worked so hard in this area. And this area gets no missionaries at all.
2) The ward is going to struggle without us. people have cried when we told them we are both leaving and the ward just has have a very poor relationship with the Elders. But this will be good for the elders and the members. I have hope.
3) My two best friends on the mission are going home on the 28th. I'm also getting transferred.
4) I am so attached to this Zone of missionaries and the leadership I've been so blessed to participate in here.
I'm not sad about leaving our apartment that always smells like weed, but everything else is hard. This week is going to be filled with a LOT of goodbyes.

But even through all this, the snow falls and light of Christ is everywhere. Christmas is such a sacred time of year and I feel overwhelming peace because of the season and because of our Savior, of whom I try to emulate and testify of.
Merry Christmas, everybody.
