Sister Hamblin

The sun will come out tomorrow

It was a rough week, as far as the work went. Not a lot happening here in the Ship, but we feel SO confident that good things are right around the corner. We have a lot of appointments set up for this next week and we know that if we are faithful, MIRACLES will happen. :)

A few things I would like to mention:
-Mennonites make the best ice cream in the world.
- During a big Missionary meeting that we had with President Christiansen, the Stake President and all the ward mission leaders and bishops (Us and the Zone Leaders have to go as well) and the stake president,, President Hurley, stood up and shouted, "LOOK! It's not that hard!!!! Members are so scared to do missionary work and they just need to love the Lord enough to do it!" He then proceeded to pick up his phone and said, "watch this." He then called his neighbors across the street and asked them if they wanted to come over for dinner next week and listen to a message from the missionaries. The family was delighted and accepted the invitation. He said, after hanging up, "Wow. That was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be." that powerful example really demonstrated to all of us there how simple it can be to invite.

SO, I would encourage all of you to pull a Shia Labeouf and DO IT

The best part of the week by FAR is when we got to meet and Apostle of God. Elder Dallin H Oaks came to our mission. We are convinced he is the happiest man alive. He was telling us lots of things that really demonstrated his LOVE for life. He told us, "Don't take your discouragement too seriously. Laugh a little bit more and worry a little bit less. Especially you Sisters. The sun will come out tomorrow and it will be glorious."
I love that. HE is the man. He made us all laugh with stories about how sad he is that his wife won't let him pick out his own ties and how he used to think all the girls who played flute in his band class were cute. he also made a comment about the political circumstances going on, then his eyes got all wide and he said, "Don't put that on the internet!!!" It was pretty great. He looked each one of us in the eye and then said. "this is a good mission. One of the best. You all know who you are."
it was exactly the kind of encouragement I needed to go out and work hard this week.
Love you all!
Have faith, have hope, live like His son!
