Sister Hope Kelleher

Elder Banks Miracle

Hello fam. and friends!

I loved this month. My Mission President and his wife asked all of the leadership to join them as they travelled to all the Zone Temple Conferences throughout Arizona. We’ve only been to the Phoenix, Mesa, and Gilbert zones so far, but man has it been awesome to be able to spend time with and actually get to know the other missionaries. I’ve been able to participate in quite a few endowment sessions, but I never felt the spirit as strong as I did in those sessions with all the missionaries. The next couple of weeks we’ll have the opportunity to travel to Snowflake, Gila Valley, and Tucson for their Zone Temple Conferences and I’m so excited. Sister Kelleher and I love being the STL’s and I love being able to work with her. She’s a GREAT missionary.

I would like to share with you all a pretty amazing miracle that happened last month to one of our missionaries, Elder Banks, during our Conference with Elder Greer of the Area Seventy. Elder Banks has been deaf since birth so his Mom is always there with him to sign him the conference. As Elder Greer finished his talk he asked that we change the closing him to “Called to Serve”. As we started singing the song and got to the first chorus, Elder Banks began to get excited, signed something to his mom and started to point to his ears. And then we got to the second chorus and he started to get excited and point to his ears again! He later wrote an email to our Mission President saying that when we sang the chorus he was able to hear us and when we got to the second chorus he could hear us again! What an amazing miracle. Miracles are REALLY real and I know that if we have faith in our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, that we too can gain a testimony and even receive miracles just as Elder Banks did. Remember that faith is something that takes constant nourishment. Continue to work on gaining your faith and a testimony.

We also had another Missionary Orientation meeting recently. If you’re feeling the desire to serve but you’re not necessarily too excited about leaving home or for some reason or another you aren’t able to serve a proselyting mission, then come be a Young Church-Service Missionary! I know you won’t regret it!
Being a Young Church-Service Missionary is such an awesome experience and I feel blessed to be a part of it every single day! It’s the best decision I have ever made ❤️

Love you all,
Sister Wearne
