Elm Creek Ward

Sister Hollingsworth

Every time we knock a door the time in between knocking and them answering we do what's called "the dance" - an OOCM original.  It's almost foolproof to avoid getting bit by skeeters.

we had a lesson with our girl Carolyn and SHE DIDN'T TELL US SHE GOT A PUPPY AND I DIDN'T KNOW SO I LITERALLY DIED. (see pictures)

Fathers day being yesterday, for the first time in like A YEAR I'm reminded of a Beyonce song "daddy's lessons" and all the lessons my dad has taught me.
Months ago my dad admonished me to live in the moment because they all pass too quickly. It's already been 2 weeks since transfers and it's felt like 2 days.
My dad shared with me his testimony, he taught me the importance of the sacrament and plan of salvation. He also taught me to be persistent, diligent and to work hard. He has encouraged me in every endeavor.
Hopefully, the fathers or father figures in our lives have been examples and have emulated a fraction of the love and care that our heavenly father has for us. As we've shared our appreciation for our fathers this week I've become eternally grateful to have a testimony that God is our LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER. In the words of His prophets and apostles, I add my testimony to theirs.

"Even those who are without hope, who live in despair, who have betrayed trust, surrendered their integrity, or turned away from God can be rebuilt He knows when you are lost, and He knows where you are. He knows your grief. Your silent pleadings. Your fears. Your tears.
It matters not how you became lost—whether because of your own poor choices or because of circumstances beyond your control. What matters is that you are His child. And He loves you. He loves His children. Because He loves you, He will find you. He will place you upon His shoulders, rejoicing. And when He brings you home, He will say to one and all, “Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.”
We are created by the Almighty God. He is our Heavenly Father. We are literally His spirit children. We are made of supernal material most precious and highly refined, and thus we carry within ourselves the substance of divinity." - Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Our direction is set by the little day-to-day choices which chart the track on which we run. It is done by men of ordinary capacity who use their abilities in an extraordinary manner. As a member of this church, you have the obligation to seek learning and to improve your skills. There is no small or unimportant duty in the kingdom of God. And out of the fulfillment of each responsibility comes the strength to undertake something new and more demanding." -Gordon B. Hinckley
This week after dinner our spiritual thought has revolved around fathers- for fathers day. We'd show a little video called "earthly father, heavenly father". One line stuck out a lot.
"I now stand very aware of how it all came to be."  Getting older has helped my perspective widen just a tiny bit and learn a bit more of how it all came to be, spiritually and temporally.
