Elm Creek Ward

Sister Goldsberry

BREAKING NEWS!!! (It's not about tornados).
Saturday night after hours of suspense and anxiety... we got transfer calls. And GUESS WHAT?? IM STAYING IN OWASSO FOR ANOTHER 6 WEEKS... 7.5 MONTHS BABY
sister goldsberry is ABANDONING ME and moving to OKC... I'm noticing a trend. Most of my companions abandon me for OKC...

This week we visited Catoosa, OK with Cindy. Catoosa is where she grew up and where the famous "blue whale" is located on route 66. It was so cute to hear the stories from her childhood. Also, I ate a mulberry for the first time. Picked it right off the tree! Then we accidentally went to Tulsa for the afternoon. Don't ask me how it happened, I just know one second I'm standing in the belly of a whale and the next I'm in the middle of Tulsa.
We invited our investigator Holly to a service activity. When we pulled up to the church she was sitting outside "soaking up all the Jesus she could get!!"

All the flooding has forced the turtles out and into the roads :( We saved a turtle on the way to district council!! I named him cucumber. Cucumber sat through our meeting, he was pretty quiet, but he finally came out of his shell

so we ended up finding this week. (I do not like finding). but we did it!!  Like knocked only 3 doors. Actually 2. The other was an oym (open your mouth). First lady had a cute porch but not a cute personality. The second lady had a matching porch and personality! She was in a rush but when we asked if we could come back she said yes!!!! BLESSINGS

after like a million things falling through we decided to come home and do Comp study. The whole time as we were driving back I kept thinking how ineffective this was. What a wuss I was for coming back... not pushing through. But this comp study invited the spirit so tangible, it was amazing. It kept confirming truth and teaching me and testifying to me. I felt so enlightened and uplifted it was incredible. I seriously gained a testimony of comp study. It's amazing. Also, Come Follow Me can have the same effect- study the scriptures as individuals AND as groups and families!! it seriously is the best and definitely inspired!

We had been trying to see Don all week and nobody was home or answering the phone. So Thursday afternoon on our way home to do studies, we were driving past Don's street and I felt like we should just see if he was home. He was home and we were able to finish teaching him the commandments and go over the baptismal interview questions and HE WAS SO READY!!!  He kept saying "okay what's next? What else do I need to know so I can be baptized?" Sister Goldsberry and I were both kinda worried that he didn't completely understand and was just getting baptized to "renew his vows with Jesus" as he would say.  But he understood everything and was able to explain it perfectly to us. We've never seen him so excited before!  When we were leaving, he struggled to get up out of his chair and we told him he didn't have to, but he said, "I know but I want to give you a hug!"  P.S HE GOT BAPTIZED ON SUNDAY!!! WOOOOOOOO

As I've said and will continue to say till the day the tag comes off, I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY. my mission is the greatest thing in the world. I seriously cannot gush about it enough!! this week I start the last 1/3 of my mission. time has flown too fast. but I just gotta move faster and share the gospel with everyone I can! make the most of the time I have left in good ole OWASSO!!
