Elm Creek Ward

Sister Goldsberry

hi all!! time to share my lil' nuggets from this week:
Sister mansell gave training at a greenie meeting this past week which was amazing. She talked about a dead line. How seriously our missions will come to an end and our lives will go back to normal. So don't wish it away.
I hit 10 months this next weekend and I'm learning that 18 months is an inspired amount of time to fit in just enough of of heaven academy to turn around and it all be over.

I was told by the good old Texas elders that a cute 10 year old I used to teach, julianys got baptized!!! And my recent convert George was interviewed to received the priesthood. I started to cry. I literally felt and understood the joy heavenly father promised in bringing one soul into the kingdom of God.

We took the trowbridge family to Tim's lesson this week. They both ride motorcycles so they clicked really well!! While we were there Tim mentioned a few times about seriously joining the church. It didn't even catch it till afterwards... it is such a shocking turn around. I know it's because he's consistently reading the book of mormon. He watched some of conference this weekend and said he felt the spirit when he heard the prophet speak.
It will be exciting to see his progress in the coming weeks!!

On the mission there are ups and downs, highs and lows, and the beauty of the gospel is that IT IS THE CONSTANT. Jesus Christ never changes or is inconsistent.
In general conference the theme I noticed was we need to gain our own testimony and strengthen our families. Asap.
The hymn that was sang on Sunday morning echoed this theme:
Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, I’ll never, no never,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake!

I hope and pray that as we all seek direction from our heavenly father how to strengthen our faith and families we will all be able to say with the same conviction, spirit and fire as the saints today and before us that we will never forget or forsake our savior and his gospel.
