Elm Creek Ward

Sister Brown

HEY Y'ALL FIRST THING- transfersI AM STAYING IN OWASSO!!! sadly sister brown is leaving for Oklahoma City! i'm excited for her but man i love her so much and will miss her a TON!!! My new companion is currently in the MTC- that's right i'll be training!!! i am a little nervous to be training a brand spanking new missionary but it will be a great opportunity to trust the Lord and see His hand in ALL THINGS!!!!

We had a NEAT experience this week!!!  when we first got to Devin house no cars were there.... but I was surprisingly optimistic about it, I seriously thought why but I told my negative brain to hush and trust God. No one answered after we knocked, we waited and a few seconds later his car pulled up! Had a great lesson. We read Moroni 7 the spirit was strong, asked a lot questions to get him to open up. He got so excited and happy talking about how he has faith in God, and his that leads him to have hope. Hope for something good, it's something to keep working towards, to take another step towards. He said the next step for him is baptism, he's praying about it. Prayers for Devin pls!!!

We had brunch with Sister Reeves in Claremore on Friday while on exchanges. We had chicken and waffles! Sister Reeves is literally the sweetest lady. She told us her favorite shoe was a lightweight sneaker because lots of trials she's experienced she will carry for the rest of her life, so she does what she can to make it easy to keep going by wearing light shoes.
Sister Jenkins (sister in Claremore) has helped me learn a lot about setting daily goals. They are motivating and push you! As we biked and walked around Claremore we kept asking people "what's the next step?" Either in school, work or spiritually.SO what is YOUR next step??? I did a little evaluation and answered these questions: - What's my next step to strengthen my faith and increase my conversion?- What's my next step to strengthen my relationships?- What's my next step to lift others?
Reading Mosiah chapter 2 which these questions in mind is a really good combination!!!
In the perfect gospel of Jesus Christ, constant progression is constant. He has given us commandments that require us having faith and taking ONE MORE STEP to follow them. Thankfully these commandments aren't a "one and done" deal. They're a "try, try, try" forever and ever deal. In the Book of Mormon, it states "...He doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you; for which if ye do he doth IMMEDIATELY bless you..." (Mosiah 2:24) As long as we continue to "Try, try, try" (as President Eyring stated in October 2018) we are doing our part.

so sorry this email is short but even after 9 months, time management is not my strong suit !!

I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!! I CANNOT believe I'm halfway there *insert Bon Jovi* but it has been the greatest experience of my life! I would not trade it for the world. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for the next 9 months!!

love Sister Maloney
