Elm Creek Ward

Sister Brown

Hello again!!

Alrighty, let's start off with this weeks miracles:
the missionaries have been meeting with her for almost a year! It's so cool how the Lord makes everything work together, so vernia is moving into downtown Tulsa by the end of the month... :'( we're so sad she won't be in our ward anymore but with all the change (location, ward ect) vernia decided she needed to get baptized. She's quit smoking multiple times and with God's help she's done it again. Even though things are stressful with trying to move, friends needing extra support she is relying on the lord and taking this step of faith and commitment!!
Next miracle, we have not gotten sick!! We've have 4 dinners this week cancle/reschedule because the family is sick and thankfully we have not had to stop working because we've gotten sick! The prophet has said to "take your vitamins", my dad always said to "lavarte Los manos" so if we're careful we'll be safe.

2 Nephi 4:26-27 describes the struggle of this week:
26 O then, if I have seen so great things, if the Lord in his condescension unto the children of men hath visited men in so much mercy, why should my heart weep and my soul linger in the valley of sorrow, and my flesh waste away, and my strength slacken, because of mine afflictions?
27 And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?
Last week I had some amazing experiences that really built my testimony. SO WHY DO I STILL STRUGGLE TO FEEL JOY??? If "men are that they might have joy" why isn't it always so easy to feel it??? because "men are free... and all things are given them... and they are free to choose liberty and eternal life... or to choose captivity and death." 2 nephi 2:25,27BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT "IF WE ADMIT THAT HONESTLY AND ARE TRYING TO IMPROVE, WE ARE NOT HYPOCRITES; WE ARE HUMAN" - elder holland thank the heavens for that piece of knowledge!!
I am so grateful to be a missionary for Jesus Christ! I hit 8 months on Wednesday LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL???? Time flies when you're serving others and biking in sub freezing temperatures!!! I LOVE THIS GOSPEL MORE THAN ANYTHING!!! Y'ALL I LITERALLY PROMISE EVERYTHING IN LIFE MAKES SENSE WHEN YOU CENTER YOUR LIFE ON JESUS CHRIST. He makes it all possible. like i said last week HE is the superglue. He is the solution. HE IS OUR JOY. I know He leads us by the hand and answers our prayers!!
Love you all so very much! have a blessed week!!
pics shout out to my girl sarah - she's the real mvp and my bff frozen - literally everything is frozen of course - the "goodest boy" Bruno
