Wichita Falls Ward

Sister Gentry

Hey Y'all!!!
So sorry about last emails abrupt ending, the time away from me but there was so much more I wanted to say!
This week we've done some intense planning and mapping out part member families. I know yall have heard about golden investigators, those who are just so ready for the gospel. Well lemme tell you about part member families. Not all, but for the most part of them are absolutely GOLDEN!! They're our missions #1 finding resource, which means we have been spending a lot less time knocking doors and a lot more of our time working with part member families. Not that i don't LOVE knocking a million doors, but part member families are so much better!!

Alright. The biggest miracle this week was that sister gentry and I haven't (completely) lost our minds. I think it rained every single day this week. Friday the heavens opened and poured down so much rain there was not enough room to receive it. We watched the pool outside our window almost overflow. The walkway from our building to the parking lot filled up, right up to our door. We thought we'd need to build an ark.

We had a miracle lesson with a girl who told us "not interested in converting but just wanted to know about the Book of Mormon". Even though we met on a college campus and people were all around talking and playing music the spirit was so strong. She felt it. I felt it. The more I get to teach the message of the Restoration the more I love it and want to share it. I have started reading the book "Saints", it was released a few weeks ago and is a book all about church history. Church History never really interested me, I liked it but I didn't think it was super important. Anyway, I'm reading through Doctrine and Covenants as part of my daily study and reading Saints in the car or in the evenings and HOLY COW!! I have come to love and know this gospel is true more than ever before!! No matter the crazy, complicated questions we get from people, no matter how many people deny what we believe, I believe it. I cannot deny the countless witnesses I've received that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that this is Christ's true church on the earth.

alrighty. SAD NEWS!!! we got calls about transfers last night.... AND... Sister Gentry is leaving me!! she's going to be serving in Oklahoma City! She's so excited, she's always wanted to serve in the city. But i think she's more excited for who my new companion is going to be... Her old companion from OU campus SISTER LEWIS!!! I am so pumped. sis L is so so cute and I cannot wait to learn more from her and being her comp!
The church is so so true !! how could it not be???Thank you for all the prayers !! I feel them and their strength everyday!
I love you all so so much!
