Sister Parslow

This week was full of Zone Conference and exchanges! It's been such a blast though! Sister waite came down from Eugene YSA and spent a day with me in the small town of Veneta! We had a really fun time together!

It feels good to get back into the work after the holiday season! I'm glad everyone is back in town and on scheudle to meeting again!

Here's the story for the week. So on Friday night Sister Parslow and I prayed to know where the Lord needed us to tract/knock doors for the night. I felt promlted to go 20 mintues out to some houses in the boonies but then as we were driving there, I felt prompted to go to the houses across the street from the church building. So we turned around and headed back. The first few houses was a typical answer, "Nope, we're not Intrested" but the 3rd house we knocked on, this lady Linda answered and told us to come right on in. Lots of things we happening in this house. Lots of papers, fish tanks, wheel chairs, pills, medical books, you name it. We sat down and she just started talking about how she has never been to medical school but how she scored higher than anyone in the country on some medical exam. (Dont know if I believe that). She told us that she has a cure for cancer and that it "works every time". Anyway after a couple of minutes went by, her 40 year old son comes in pacing the floor, sits down and tests his blood pressure. It ended up being really really high, high enough for Linda to freak out and scream "BRYAN! YOU SHOULDNT EVEN BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW WITH THAT HIGH IF BLOOD PRESSURE". She ran and got her phone and dialed 911 and then told us to go and wave down the paramedics and ambulance. So some how we find our ourself standing outside in the rain, waving down the paramedics and then running back inside to linda and bryan. There was 7 paramedics in this tiny room, pulling our cords and wires and machines to test to see if Bryan was okay. Long story short, he was completely fine. Absolutely normal. Everything happened so quick and I'm not really sure why the Lord needed us to be at Linda's home that night but she told us that we could come back on Wednesday this week to have a discussion so maybe that's why! Hahah it was the funniest, strangest, and most thrilling moment I've had on my mission yet.

I've been doing really good! I've been thinking a lot about the Savior and his Atonement and why He had to be the one to sacrifice himself. I love the way the Book of Mormon puts it in 2 Nephi 2: 6-8

6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
8 Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.

Jesus Christ came and satisfied the demands of justice for us to he able to be made perfect! Gods plan is perfect! And the Savior is the center of that plan!

The work is going and we are teaching a lot of people! I'm grateful to he spending this time of my life on a mission!
