Sister Parslow

Deer meat and Hot Coco

This week flew by. No joke. I feel like I just wrote my last group email 7 minutes ago, yet here we are again.

What a great week! The fruit of our labors are arising! TONY came to church! Hallelujah. God is good. He's solid and we can't wait for his baptismal date! Mark your calendars everyone because February 22 is going to be a day to remember!

Tracting Friday night was interesting. Another night in the boonies of Oregon. It was a night full of rejections and people telling us to "GET OFF MY PROPERTY". which we always reply "God bless!" Haha. Anyway we were going to knock on our last door for the night and this lady answered from her window and said she wasn't interested, but then the door opened and her husband asked us what we wanted. We gave him the same spiel that we gave his wife and added that we were looking for ways that we could serve. Then the wife said "wait, you look really familiar. You volunteered at the town bizarre a couple months ago. We really appreciate that!". They ended up letting us in and we talked for a full hour! They started telling us all about their family, hunting trips, aspirations in life, hobbies, struggles etc...they even made us hot cocoa and then asked if we had ever tried deer meat. I said "can't say I ever have" so they went out to their freezer and brought back a bag with some deer meat in it! As we said goodbye and walked back to our car under the stars, on a cold Oregon night I had the thought, "there will never be another moment exactly like this for the rest of my life. I'm walking in the the boonies of oregon holding deer meat and sippin on some hot cocoa with sister Parslow". Its just one of those moments where you just become very grateful that everything fell into place the way it did for me to be able to have these experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life!

I've been studying the Atonement the past couple days and I love in 2 Nephi 9:21 it says

21 And he cometh into the world that he may save all men IF they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam

I've also been thinking a lot how God is a covenant (promise) making God. He wants to be bound to us and pour His blessings into our lives. God will always keep his promises. You read in Mosiah 28 when the sons of Mosiah wanted to go on missions instead of taking over their fathers kingdom. Mosiah went to the Lord in prayer and asked if he should let his sons go on a mission. The Lord gave Mosiah a promise in verse 7
"And the Lord said unto Mosiah: Let them go up, for many shall believe on their words, and they shall have eternal life; and I will deliver thy sons out of the hands of the Lamanites"
Fast forward when Ammon was with the Lamanites and they thought they could just kill him, but in Alma 17: 35 it says
"35 Therefore they did not fear Ammon, for they supposed that one of their men could slay him according to their pleasure, for they knew not that the Lord had promised Mosiah that he would deliver his sons out of their hands; neither did they know anything concerning the Lord; therefore they delighted in the destruction of their brethren; and for this cause they stood to scatter the flocks of the king"
King Mosiah (Ammons Dad) had been dead for a while by this time, yet the Lord had made a promise to King Mosiah that his sons would be protected on their missions and the Lord fulfilled his promise when Ammon wasn't killed and was protected from his enemies.

I know the Lord is the same for us! He will always keep his promises. Whether that's promised blessing from keeping the Word of Wisdom, Tithing, Scripture study, prayer, church attendance, or what. God has promised us blessings in all commandments and he is bound to his word and will always provide to those who have the faith and heart to listen and follow.

Today when we were shopping for our food at walmart, a man came up to us and expressed his appreciation for what we're doing as missionaries. He told us his story of how he was converted 11 years ago and how our actions don't go unnoticed. And I can testify of that as well! God sees exactly where we are and he blesses us for keeping his commandments and serving his children. This man said "I just know that the Lord is going to give you two the biggest hugs when you get to heaven". God is going to give all of us the biggest hugs when we see him again because we took the time to choose Him now! There's no better time to stand as a witness of Christ than right now! :)

Thank you for reading my email! :)

God is good and I love my mission!
