This week was definitely full of some ups and downs!
First off, we put Tony on date for baptism on January 11th! Mark your calendars! We're super excited about him and hope that he continues to progress towards that goal!
We unfortunately had to drop one of our investigators that we have been seeing for the past 7 weeks. We asked her if she could see herself being baptized or coming to church and she said no. We told her that we had to focus our effects on people who really need us. She started to cry. And then I started to cry. And then my companion started to cry. Even though she was totally crazy, you fall in love with all these people and you just want the best for them so when you have to move on, it truly breaks your heart. It's a feeling that is hard to describe but it makes you realize how much God must love us if I feel that kind of remorse when someone doesn't accept the gospel.
We had interviews with the president this week! I love my mission president! He is definitely inspired by God and he loves his work. I'm so grateful to be able to have him and his wife looking over all of these amazing missionaries!
My companion and I have been in Veneta for 2 months now! Crazy to think how time has already flown so fast!
I've really enjoyed my personal studies this week and I also was given a scripture from President Orton in Alma 12:10 that says
"And therefore, he that will harden his heart, the same receiveth the lesser portion of the word; and he that will not harden his heart, to him is given the greater portion of the word, until it is given unto him to know the mysteries of God until he know them in full."
God wants to speak to us and give us all this knowledge, all we have to do is open our hearts up to change! Have faith that the Lord will is better than our own! Have faith that by studying and by seeking truth through personal study, God will increase your knowledge and help you grow closer to Christ!
Forgot to mention that our pday was switched to tuesday because of interviews with Presdient yesturday. Sorry!
President keeps asking me if I'm speaking spanish at all in Veneta and then says that I should practice. I'm scared he's going to make me a Spanish speaking sister. But hey, if there's a will, there's a way!
I love you all! I hope you have such an amazing thanksgiving with all your families! Dont forget about me over here in veneta oregon! Hahaha!
Much love
Sister white
