Sister Durney

I'll join your church if I can have two wives

Hello everyone! :) another email from your favorite missionary! Dont forget to send me a life update!

This week FLEW by! We had zone conference on tuesday which was a blast! I got to see sister Yates and sister Green from the MTC! We had cafe Rio for lunch which brought back fond memories of Utah! It was homemade cafe Rio but it was SO yummy!

Tracting this week always brings some fun adventures! We are out in the boonies of oregon so we see a lot of things. Lots of cows, lots of people on drugs, lots of run down homes, but lots of people that are ready to hear the gospel!

We met a older women named karen who lives in a broken down rv off the side of this road. She started off the conversation by looking at us and saying "I really want to come to your church". We got excited of course! Later on in the conversation we asked her what she knew about the book of mormon, she goes "enough to know I dont want to be one" but them agreed to have us come over and teach her more. Haha shes an interesting lady but her heart is good!

We tracted into a man named gary last night, which is why my subject of this email is what it is. He thought we were jehovah witnesses, and then he thought we were 7th day adventists. When we asked him if he believed there would be a prophet today, he said "I would sure hope so!" So we bore our testimony on our living prophet, Russell M Nelson and how he is called of God! Gary is letting us come back next week! He kept making jokes throughout the discussion about being able to marry us if he came to church (keep in mind he's 65) so we are going to have to bring bishop or someone with us for next lesson hahaha.

Raining season is coming! All next week looks like its going to be pouring down on us so I'm getting myself prepared! I'm kinda looking forward to the rain though! I think itll be a fun adventure!

It was our 2nd sunday in the ward, because of general conference, and I love the people! My ward is full of a lot of rednecks, and hillbillies but we all believe that the church of jesus christ of lstter day saints is the Lords kingdom established on the earth again so we are all one big (small ;) family!

The work is great! Veneta is working me hard but I love this work! I love seeing the changes in people's eyes and how christs presence in our lives can literally illuminate us. That's one of my favorite scriptures this week. Alma 5:7, 14-16

7 Behold, he changed their hearts; yea, he awakened them out of a deep sleep, and they awoke unto God. Behold, they were in the midst of darkness; nevertheless, their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word...
14 And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts?
15 Do ye exercise faith in the redemption of him who created you? Do you look forward with an eye of faith, and view this mortal body raised in immortality, and this corruption raised in incorruption, to stand before God to be judged according to the deeds which have been done in the mortal body?
16 I say unto you, can you imagine to yourselves that ye hear the voice of the Lord, saying unto you, in that day: Come unto me ye blessed, for behold, your works have been the works of righteousness upon the face of the earth?

I love you all! Of you read all of this, thank you! Until next week!

Love sister white :)
