L'viv (львїв)

Sister Rizley

Week 18: The Riz Carlton! and Христос Воскрес!!!!

The past week I lived the dream of every missionary in the Ukraine L'viv mission. I'm staying at the Riz Carlton! I have been living with my mission president and his wife in L'viv! The past couple days have changed me! I am convinced that Sister Rizley's love has healed me! Honestly, I don't even feel like I'm on a mission right now. It feels so weird.

So basically I started out this week seriously thinking that I was going to die! I felt AWFUL! I even thought I was going to go home, in fact I overheard the doctor and my mission president talking about it! I was so scared, because that was the last thing I wanted! Then I just started thinking about how much I love Ukraine and the people with all my heart!!! I LOVE UKRAINE!!!! I told myself in that moment that I was going to get better because there was NO WAY I was going home!!!

Then I went to the Rizley's apartment, I was sad I didn't get to go to Mission conference, but no worries, there was no way my body could have made it! Again, I thought I was dying! And now, my only concern is dying from Sister Rizley's love!!! Basically, she's an angel! I feel changed being around her. I have learned so much how to be a caring person, loving, kind, funny, and a true missionary. I really didn't know someone could care so much about other people! She is constantly thinking of others and how others are doing and what she can do for others.

I feel like their child haha. I even have my own spot at the table, my own bathroom, my own couch, and chair. She cooks for us amazing meals everyday. I'm living the good life!

It was Easter Sunday yesterday! Христос Воскрес!!! Christ is Risen!
It was so great to go to church for the first time in 2 weeks yesterday, President Rizley gave an amazing testimony about the Savior and what He not only did for us but what He continues to do for us! Christ didn't promise that through the Atonement or when we choose to follow Him that all our problems would magically go away. I think of the scripture Mosiah 24:14 "And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that EVEN YOU CANNOT FEEL THEM UPON YOUR BACKS, even while you are in bondage; and this I will do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ya may KNOW OF A SURETY that I, the LORD GOD, do visit people in their afflictions" I just absolutely love this verse because that Lord is not just there to take bad things away from us, He is there to strengthen us through our trials and He can ease the burden of those trials, so much so that even we, the very one whose trial it is, will not feel the burden of it! I testify that Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer, that He rose on the third day and that He lives, and He lives for us daily as our perfect example, brother, and friend!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend!!!! LOVE YOU ALL!

P.S. Shoutout to my best friend Aslan!! Every time I didn't feel good, I just thought to myself "I know who I am!" He kept me alive and I am forever grateful for his wonderful testimony of this restored gospel!! He is an amazing example to us all!
