GALentines Day Road Trip😘

Hey y'all!!!

I am officially classified as a cake eater. Yes you heard me right. A cake eater, I am. Hahahah so in Evansville, depending on where you live in the city, you have a name. Jimtown is the white hood. Southside is the black hood. And then there is Westside Evansville and Eastside Evansville. We are on the Eastside and known as the cake eaters, because you can have your cake and eat it too😂😋

We got to roundtrip it on over to the Louisville Temple. Woot woot! Brittney is a recent convert of about 2 months and went to do baptisms for the dead for the first time. It was a very special day. We had a no boy talk car ride hahaha. If you knew Brittney it would make sense, but that's why we made it a GALentines Day road trip😎

There is such a spirit to the temple and being a missionary, we don't get to go very often. It's very rare. So I felt very fortunate to be able to have that time in the Lord's holy house. I was last to do baptisms and Brittney went right before me, so I got to watch her! She was so cute!! Everytime she would come up out of the water she had a beaming smile on her face. In this moment while I was watching her, I was thinking about all she has had to go through to get to this point in her life. She knew and you could see that she knew that she belonged there. Brittney has gone through it all to get to where she is today. And she's found right where she belongs.

I called this the temple reunion day too!! I got to see a member from each of my past areas at the temple. It was so cool!! Every corner I turned there would be another person I knew. I liked it, I liked it a lot.

Since Sister King and I are missionaries, we are just always tired. So is it surprising that we knocked out on the car ride home?? Nope. Not even a little bit. Hahah😁 Sister Jenks and Brittney were totally tempted to sneak pictures of us but I think they decided nobody needed to see that. When I say we were out, I mean we were out. Mouths hanging open and Sister King waking up to drool all over her. Hahaha good times.

Apparently, while we were out, Brittney was getting a lot of texts that involved some family drama. She came to the realization that whenever something really good happens, bad things like to follow the good event. She said she noticed when she would have an uplifting experience at church, something later on would go down and it would be hard to remember the good moment. It clicked for Brittney and she goes, "SATAN'S TRYING TO TAKE MY LIGHT." I loved her response and realization. The adversary does try to steal any light from us by letting his darkness creep in. And as we realize this and understand what is happening, like Brittney did, we can STOP our light from leaving. We are in control and the light is worth fighting for💛 (shout out to my yellow heart bff ;))

I found something AMAZING this week in the Book of Mormon and Bible! Jesus Christ delivered his Sermon on the Mount to the people in Jerusalem, to help them to know of how they could live their lives. When the Savior appeared to the people in the Americas, he delivered the same Sermon. EVERYONE needed to hear his teachings because his Sermon is the blueprint for our lives that leads to perfection. "In his Sermon on the Mount the Master has given us somewhat of a revelation of his own character, which was perfect, or what might be said to be ‘an autobiography, every syllable of which he had written down in deeds,’ and in so doing has given us a blueprint for our own lives” -President Harold B. Lee. If you are looking to live a better way, to have more happiness, to see a change, or to gain peace and understanding go and study Christ's sermon. It's opened my eyes and I know it will open yours as well.

To rap this all up, I should tell you of mine and Sister King's CompUnity!! We have this Elder in our district who loved his companion Elder Walker... he always has a story to share about the two of them. Their bromance was real. Everyone knows Elder Robins loves Elder Walker. As we were getting ready to fall asleep one night, Sister King pipes up and says, "Sister Ludwig, you are my Elder Walker." Haha I about died laughing!! Now we have a sign that says... You are my Elder Walker.... Est. April 17th 2018. Good times in the GKLM👊

Love youinns,
Sister Lauren Ashlee Ludwig
