Jovita Creek Ward in Federal Way

Sister Riggs

Exciting Baptism, Transfers, Ward Variety Show and Shrimp Eyes & Octopus Feast

This week has been great and busy!!!!!!!!!

First, SISTER BESSETTE IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!! And, more exciting news (kinda), Sister Riggs is being transferred and I'm now no longer in training! Sister Riggs is being transferred out of our zone! I'll miss Sister Riggs but I'm sure ready for some change!

Sister Bessette is getting super excited for her baptism! Sister Riggs and I are even planning on singing, "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" for her! Don't worry, we majorly practiced. I need all the help I can get...

I find out who my new companion is in a few hours! This should be interesting! I'm excited to see what happens and the changes she brings. I'm really excited to learn from her.

Here's something else really cool that happened. I explained before that Sis Riggs and I like to go and try some new or different food once a week and we ended up in this Asian corner trying to choose where to go. Five seconds later this women is getting dropped off and says, "Hello, Sisters (which we get a lot, randomly from members), I'm a member of the church!" We talked to her for a few minutes and she ended up convincing us to let her order and pay for our meal. We walked into this Korean restaurant and she was ordering in Korean super quickly and we were completely lost and still amazed. She ordered this meal, paid, and then ran off before we could barely say thank you. SO SWEET! The hilarious part is that we had no idea what she ordered! They brought it all out, and even though we didn't know what everything was, WE TRIED IT ALL, FROM THE OCTOPUS TO THE SHRIMP EYES. It was... great. And super fun! That women, Stephanie, did something so sweet and so completely out of the blue for us. It made our day. I hope one day I can do something like that for someone else. :)

We also had our ward variety show this week! The ward really pitched in and we were able to get investigators, recent converts and less actives there! It was awesome! The kids and young men and women really pitched in and it was super great. Did I ever mention that one of the men in our bishopric is a musician? Well, he ended up convincing a lot of the leaders in our ward to do a musical performance (Hey, Jude) and that was also pretty fantastic!

This Sunday we also had a wonderful sacrament. This women who's deaf, wrote a talk and we had an interpreter there to interpret it. Her daughter had just got home from her mission and was having her homecoming. It was beautiful to hear them both right after the other. The mom had prayed to have a child and had promised God to raise her to be able to come back to her Father in Heaven again. We had an investigator next to us at the time who also loved it.

Oh! This investigator, Mariflor, is someone we've been trying to get a hold of for a long time. She's super sweet. I'm excited to get to know her more and continue teaching her.

That's all really, for now! Love ya lots and lots!!!!!
