Okotoks, Alberta

Sister Macdonald

Sharpe family is the best!!, Lockdown, drive in movie!

This week was so good!

- Yesterday Alberta announced more restrictions so we are now in lockdown starting Sunday. We are allowed to leave our apartments for picking up dinner, grocery shopping on Pday and for 1 hour of church on Sunday. all our teaching and video calls have to be made from our apartment. and we don't have any Wi-Fi there so our data bill is going to SKYROCKET! Lol YIKES! Pray for us haha! Luckily i love my companion so much so being locked in together won't be too bad.

- We went to a drive in showing of the Christ child video. It was so good! We have watched that short movie/video so many times this week!!! It is so so good. you can find it on !! Go check it out!

- On Sunday it was Fast Sunday. That is where we fast for 2 meals and then donate the money we would have spent on those meals to those who are in need!! And then at church that day, people are invited to share what they believe! Two of our friends, Christine and Travis shared their testimonies! It was so inspiring!!! Travis used to not be interested but was still supportive of her and now he wants to learn more for himself and on Sunday he shared that he knows the church is true and he is so happy that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been blessing his family already! I am so excited for them. And this week we had another lesson with the boys and it went so well!! They are starting to understand more and it is so awesome!! The Godfrey and the Simard kids came too and that really helped the Sharpe boys understand more!! Christine bought us special heart locket chest things with an angel inside because she said we are "her angels" and that was so so nice of her!!

- On Sunday someone named EJ came to church for the first time! He drove past the church and felt prompted to come in so he did! That was super cool. Hopefully he comes back this week! He was a total cowboy and was only 19 but probably like 6'4!! Super super tall!!

- We had another awesome lesson with Ken and Cassie and they are really starting to "Let down their walls" more with us especially Cassie! So that has been really nice. It feels good to be trusted! Ken is so motivated to learn everything and it is so fun! We always go over so many different things in our lessons because of all his questions hahah!

I LOVE this quote about hope from Samuel Smiles "Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey towards it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.’ … Hope sweetens the memory of experiences well loved. It tempers our troubles to our growth and our strength. It befriends us in dark hours, excites us in bright ones. It lends promise to the future and purpose to the past. It turns discouragement to determination" Even though life has been different and maybe even difficult this year, there is still so much to hope for. We can find hope through Christ!! He is there for all of us! It is hope that brings us through the hard times and leads us to the better days!

I love you all!! Merry Christmas (In a couple weeks haha)
