Sister Newman

Week 24: Welcome to a New Year

Hello my fellow friends and family.. It is like I haven't talked to you since last year...( I am not funny) So some things have happened.
We now have this lady named Hollie on date. I have been teaching her for the past 5ish months and she has been going through some hard things. She has told Sister Newman and I that the church has saved her. Literally saved her.

We started teaching her back in August. When I got here. Sister Bylund my trainer and I knocked on her door and Sister Bylund was cracking up jokes about something that happened and Hollie let us in.
We got to know her and her situation and we became friends with her.

About 2 weeks ago when Sister Saffer was here with us she had told us a tiny bit of her testimony.

She said that because of the situation that she is currently in. She was going to commit suicide. But right as she was going to do it we happened to knock on her door. She looked into the peephole and she saw Sister Bylund and I laughing. She thought to herself. I will let them in. So she changed her thoughts and let us in and we have been meeting with her ever since. She came to church this Sunday for the first time. I was doing back flips in my head. When we were in Sunday school going through the Come Follow Me she kept on telling us that the reason we have the Book of Mormon is because we need some love from God. And that she was going to throw a Book of Mormon at people and tell them they need Jesus. Lol... Last night she asked us if she had to speak at her baptism and we said if she was comfortable. She has an essay ready.. she loves writing papers.

I love being out here. There are many kinds of people that I love. I hope you all are having a fun Monday. I love you all. Keep your chin up.

Love your favorite Sister Osai
