Hola Familia y amigos!
This week flew by, I don’t even remember what happened. Haha Basically, a LOT of walking and trying to find new investigators. We are at a point where basically all of our old investigators aren´t progressing anymore, or they have moved, so we´re just starting fresh. Which is hard. As a zone, we are focusing a LOT on finding nuevos, which is great, but it means doing contacts... (for all those missionaries out there that know how fun contacts are, you understand my pain) jaja but to be honest, I actually don’t mind doing them anymore! It’s crazy. There´s a quote by Tad R. Callister in his talk "Becoming a Consecrated Missionary" that talks about how if you want to baptize and few people, talk to a few people, if you want to baptize a lot of people, talk to a lot of people. And if you want to baptize as many people as you can, talk to as many people as you can!!! This, i have found, is so true. How can you have investigators if you don’t talk to all the people in the street? This is something I’ve worked on A LOT these past 2 weeks. And really, I´ve seen so much change in my ánimo. At first, i DREADED doing contacts. What do i say? What if they reject me? What if I’m super awkward about it? DOESNT MATTER. There is no such thing as a bad contact. After doing a couple, you get used to it. It gets easier. You start enjoying it. You actually WANT to do it, because you want to share this gospel (good news) with everyone! So Hermana Ward and I just go crazy with contacting now. It’s fun. It’s interesting to see all the different reactions. People telling us that the US is bombarding all the countries, being rejected time after
time, and just talking to some really interesting people. We were talking to these 2 guys and they told us how they believe in connecting with plants and traveling to other worlds. (That would be called marijuana). But yeah we´ve talked to a whole variety of people. And among ALL the people you talk to, you just hope that at least ONE wants to listen. Someone that is looking for something more in their life, and then we come and bring them the exact thing they are looking for. (Doesn´t happen a lot, but it happens). And that’s what makes all the rejections worth it. So yeah, this week was a lot of searching.
Oh crazy story, the other night we had a huge bug/bird thing in our pension, and we thought we were gonna die. (it was like a mix between a grasshopper and a bat. So scary) And it was just bouncin off the walls like pinball. So here i am with a broom strugglin for about half an hour with this thing tryna get it out the tiny window. Meanwhile Hermana Ward was hiding in the bathroom. Leaving me alone!! jaja our District Leader called us in the middle of this so the phone was just on speaker phone on the bed. He said that it sounded like a haunted
house full of girls. jajaja oops. Might have overreacted a little bit. But in the end i got it out the window!
So that’s basically this week in a sum up! Todavía I’m losing hair, and having stomach problems, but it’s all good! I read a scripture the other day in D&C 9:14 and it says: "Stand fast in the work wherewith i have called you, and a hair of your head shall not be lost, and you shall be lifted up at the last day. Amen." So I’m all good! Haha God gives us comfort in the strangest ways sometimes.
Have a good week everyone!!
Muchisimo amor,
Hermana Mikolajcik
