Week 15: 3 Months!
Happy Valentine's Day!! I love you all so much. Read 1 John 4:16-17!
THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE.💗💌💗
Monday, February 7:
We got to go to the Zoo! For free! It was nice enough we didn't have to wear a coat and hardly anyone was there so we got to see everything that was open. As we walked around, I thought about how wonderful Heavenly Father is for giving us so many beautiful things. I see God in everything! Moses 3:5 says,
"And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew."
"For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth."
"For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had created all the children of men."
He could've given us an ugly world, but He didn't. He gave us so many amazing and wonderful things because HE LOVES US! And why does He love us? Just because we are who we are!
Tuesday, February 8:
3 months! And what a good day it was to celebrate. We had back to back meetings with members and our friends! We almost ran out of gas, but we got everything we needed just in the nick of time. That was a tender mercy!
We got to bake heart shaped sugar cookies with Sister Albretsen! It was fun to be there in their home.
We ate a lobster dinner at the Zimnicks and they made us a big heart shaped cake for Valentines haha. They're awesome!
We got to meet with Jes and she showed me her Marauders Map she just got which is so cool hahaha.
We met with Jennifer and she told us she's not ready to be baptized. It was a good meeting though. I felt at peace about it and I'm happy she was honest with us. I love her so much and she's wonderful! I know that God has a special plan for her and I'm happy we get to teach her here in Union.
Wednesday, February 9:
Our last day with Sister DeMill. :(
We had a busy one again! We had Zone Council and I got to hear exactly what I needed! The Zone Leaders gave a training about keeping your feet where they are and focusing your thoughts on Christ and what is going on in the moment. I find that what helps me is singing "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus" because I am!
We met with Machel in the evening and taught her and Jayden the Restoration! We showed them The First Vision video and the Spirit was so strong. I'm so thankful for Joseph Smith and the faith he had to kneel to pray. He was determined and he accomplished the plan Heavenly Father made for him. I love that I have this knowledge of the gospel and that I get to share the message with those who are seeking to know. My heart is so happy.
We ran over to the Albretsens to help the young women decorate Valentine's cookies, and they had just finished when we got there! But we stayed for a minute and played Trash Panda with Brother and Sister Albretsen which was so fun. We read Mosiah 18:30 and talked about finding our own Sacred Grove. I've personally felt that Union has become that for me. I've grown to love this ward and our friends with Christ's pure love, and it has become a sanctuary for me. My second home. I feel so lucky to be here. Union has my heart.
Thursday, February 10:
We dropped Sister DeMill off in St. Louis! I can't believe how fast time flew with her. I'm going to miss her so much, but I can't wait for what God has in store for her in Chile!
Sister Guzman and I headed home and on the way stopped at my favorite store! Trader Joe's!🤩 We had fun haha.
The rest of our day was good and I was able to set some new goals for myself to improve in this work and I'm going to follow through! I love that we get to do better and be better every day!
Friday, February 11:
Didn't do too much this day.
But I'm thankful for Sister Guzman and her kind heart! We had a great companion inventory and I'm thankful for her sweet example!
Saturday, February 12:
It was a good day because we got things organized!
During personal study, I was reading in Alma 26:12 "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever."
All of my talents, creativity, abilities, insights, and strength come from Heavenly Father. He is to thank for all that I am and all that I have! He is my glorious, perfect Father and He is yours too!!!
We had a good, successful day. Life sure is wonderful!!
Sunday, February 13:
Ahhh Sunday!!!!! My favorite day of the week! Church was so awesome. I got to sing with Sister Sander! I never thought I'd be using my talents this much on my mission, but it's my absolute favorite. I'm so thankful Heavenly Father has given me this talent that I get to share with others to spread His light! We also had a linger longer which was delicious haha. And the McDonalds came to church!!
The rest of our day was really nice. We got to deliver some Valentine's cookies and hear departing missionaries' testimonies.
It got me thinking how that will be me one day and I don't like it haha. I don't want to come home! I love that all I have to do every single day is be an example of my Savior and turn outwards to serve and love everyone! I am so thankful for this opportunity to be a missionary for Him in Union. I know He trusts me enough to do this work and help the people here in Missouri. I love love love love being a missionary!!!!!!!!
