Week 14: THE BIGGEST BLIZZARD SINCE '82

All week everyone had been talking about how this snow storm coming in was gonna be a doozy. Apparently the biggest blizzard since 1982! Haha, we got 6 inches.

Monday, January 31:

Man, what a great day! P days are nice because they're the days we get to catch up on things! I love talking to my family and getting to hear how their week went. It's true the saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." I appreciate and love each of you! Heavenly Father has placed you all in my life for a special reason and that makes me so happy.

Highlight from this day: We love to laugh!! Haha, we were heart attacking the LaFrances *who are members* and their front porch is hard to avoid being seen. So we did the best we could, but as we were running back to the car after we taped the hearts to their door, Kyle *their 11 year old* opens the door and yells, "MOM! It's the missionaries!" Hahaha we got in the car and were dying laughing; so hard I couldn't breathe.😂😂 Sister LaFrance texted us later and said, "Ladies, was that you at our house? Kyle seen you." Ah haha I also love how everyone says 'seen' here.

Tuesday, February 1:

I love it when we do farm work for Sam!! We got to hold the Lamb again and carry about 20 bags of feed to dump for the animals. We helped her prep the farm for the big storm coming and she gave us board games to take with us and play during the snowstorm lockdown. Sister Guzman also loved the drive...but who wouldn't?!😍

The Zimnicks made a delicious dinner for us and Sister DeMill taught the lesson in Spanish with Sister Guzman translating, and me saying my own thing haha it was fun.

We also had a great meeting with Jennifer about temples and family history! We showed her the Rome Italy temple and as we watched the video, I felt the Spirit so strongly. I'm so thankful that I was born in the covenant and that I get to enter in the temple! I love that I get to keep the commandments and follow my parents/grandparents example to be sealed for time and eternity to my future husband and family! The temple is a sacred, beautiful, wonderful place where I feel Heavenly Father's love for me!

Wednesday, February 2:

Groundhog day. Literally haha. We stayed inside and watched the snowfall all day. It wasn't too bad though because we were able to keep each other company haha. Sister Guzman's mom door dashed Jimmy John's to us and we had a picnic in our living room! We also got to have interviews with President Bell and I got to tell him about the McDonalds and how I've been doing. I told him I've really been trying to be more hard working and diligent and asked for advice on what to do. He told me that it's normal for everyone to get off task and to not be hard on myself when I do! He told me that just by recognizing what I need to do better shows that I am a conscientious and a good missionary! Which meant a lot coming from him!

Thursday, February 3:

Another day of staying inside haha. We got creative though! We worked hard and made lots of phone calls and had fun with it!

Highlights: We got to go outside to be in the snow and play some fun card games. Thanks to the Hermie's, I know how to play fair. ;)

During personal study, I was looking through the Topical Guide in "love." It took me to 1 John 4:7-9
"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."
"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him."

The word love is so beautiful. It means to care, have charity, be kind, respectful, and so much more. When we show these Christlike attributes to others, we are spreading God's love. As this month is the month of love, go about doing good. Focus on Heavenly Father's pure and profound love for you and share it with anyone and everyone you see!

Haven't we all felt love for one person or another? We all know what that feeling is like. So why not help others feel the best kind of love from their Father in Heaven. ♥️

Friday, February 4:

We got to go out today! I felt like Rapunzel when she finally leaves her tower! Haha, we went to our favorite study spot, Exit 11 to plan and do companion inventory! My companions are so amazing. Sister DeMill is diligent and my literal sister. She is so kind and soft-spoken but bold! And Sister Guzman is so Spiritually in tune and listens well and works effectively to get the job done.

We also got to eat dinner with the Albretsens, Saucedas, and Daniels!

Saturday, February 5:

We had lots of appointments fall through but we were out and about all day! We had a District Council in Rockwood and we discussed companion unity. We did a training and went over how important companion inventory and study is because that allows us to understand one another and to feel the Spirit better to teach the lessons in a more focused manner! I think it's beautiful that we get to learn how to be better unified with one another here on our missions. I'm going to apply what I'm learning with my future husband and my future relationships with friends and family! And that's exactly why I'm learning these lessons!!

On the drive back to Pacific, Sister DeMill told me how before she met me she felt like she was going through the motions of life, and then after she's known me, she said she loves how passionate I am about the little things. She gave examples like how when we're driving, I'll just randomly blurt out how much I love this house or the view or whenever I see cattle and she told me that is such a great quality to have as a missionary! Because whatever I learn, I'll be passionate about and when I teach, it will be interesting and intriguing. That made my heart really happy that she said that about me! I'm happy I'm making a difference in people's lives here.

Sunday, February 6:

Sister DeMill is leaving us on Thursday! Haha, at least that's the plan. But she bore her testimony today in Spanish and it was beautiful (even though I didn't understand much) haha. Today in fast and testimony meeting everyone who got up to bear their testimony said they know this Gospel is true. It hit me! Because I do know this church is true and so do thousands of people around the world! It was also wonderful because Jennifer and the McDonalds were there to hear those beautiful, real testimonies.

THE CHURCH IS TRUE!
