Hermana Johnson

Hola buenos días muchachos!!!

Wow ….. my spanish is rusty after being out in English but that definitely doesn't stop me from trying to talk to people. I realized how much English work actually helped me talk to strangers more often and hold non awkward conversations with random people and members!
Latinos know how to joke around for sure… one even offered me a beer but I kindly declined and offered him a picture of Jesus christ and he gladly accepted so we all laughed about it. They all were picking chickpeas but once I testified of Christ the spirit smacked their souls and we got a return appointment !!!

Anyways a little update …I had to say goodbye to Sister Schwalger and our adventures together the last few days … we go to meet a cool pig that we feed cereal and took our last photo together. I now have 2 new companions who are so sweet! It's Hermana Ralston and Hermana Johnson and they both are younger than me in mission time as well as real time. We have been grinding doing a lot of contacting in the humid hot weather of 109°. We are trying to avoid the hottest part of the day, but when we are out, we get offered tons of water! We even put together a Puzzle in 3 days.

☆ We are teaching two siblings that are about to get Baptized on July 29th!!!! We're preparing them for their interview soon and they are golden!
☆ We happened to visit a person who we ended up not seeing but it was a new family that had just barely moved in and apparently has been looking for a church to attend to! We offered them to come to ours and have a member give them a ride since they didn't have one. They really wanted to come and worship with us and were so kind. The wife had commented on my Bible and asked where she can get one and were like " SAY LESS" "WE HAVE SOME FOR FREE" Anyways she was so happy and grateful that we had some in Spanish and we also gave her a Book of Mormon. We ended up exchanging numbers and getting a return appointment with them and teaching them more about Christ!!! What a miracle!!!
☆As we were walking down the neighborhood and I happened to wave at this lady who sat outside and felt a strong impression just to offer a picture of Christ and she loved it!!! She ended up telling us she has been wanting to go to church and needs a ride when she has work off and we offered help with that. She has been going through a lot with life, but she wants us to come and talk more about Christ with her and see if she is interested in knowing more about our church!
☆ We had this amazing experience with a lesson we had with a couple outside in their garage. The husband was hilarious and we ended up creating a good relationship with them. We started teaching the restoration and showed them the pamphlet and clearly started how our church was Jesús Christ's church and how the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and they understood it. They asked a couple questions about our religion, and we cleared up any misconceptions they had. One thing led to another, and they said they WANT TO COME TO OUR CHURCH!!! They were even serious about it too and we invited them to read the
introduction to know more about what the Book of Mormon really is and to prayer about it. They were amazing and me and my companions were on fire bouncing off of one another. It was THE SPIRIT. I THANK THE SPIRIT!!!!
☆ Also committed a lady and her daughter to watch the Book of Mormon videos and talk more about it !!!
☆ ANOTHER MIRACLE: I saw this dude outside about to head into his car, I said Hi and offered him a picture of Christ to him and he took it. We asked if he needed anything or a message of peace and hope and he said he actually wanted one because he was going through depression and I pulled out Roman's 8: 38-39 and helped him realize that God's love overpowers the worldly things and helps us understand who we can truly become and be content with who we are and he said thank you for the message and we gave him our phone number and said call anytime so that was totally all GOD directing us to him that day to help him feel loved and cared for when others were putting him down.

Spiritual thought: Waiting on the Road to Damascus. By President Dieter F.Uchtdorf

Love this talk and all the points it gives us to change our point of view and mindset on things in life. First comes belief, then listening/ acting, serving, and sharing. Please read it!!! GOD LOVES YOU ALL! GOD KNOWS YOU PERSONALLY!!!

"The truth is, those who diligently seek to learn of Christ eventually will come to know Him. They will personally receive a divine portrait of the Master, although it most often comes in the form of a puzzle—one piece at a time. Each individual piece may not be easily recognizable by itself; it may not be clear how it relates to the whole. Each piece helps us to see the big picture a little more clearly. Eventually, after enough pieces have been put together, we recognize the grand beauty of it all. Then, looking back on our experience, we see that the Savior had indeed came to be with us—not all at once but quietly, gently, almost unnoticed."

"This can be our experience if we move forward with faith and do not wait too long on the road to Damascus."

Scripture: Roman's 8: 38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
