Hermana Macievic

Alohaaa ….. Hola buenos días muchachos!!!

Today was pretty epic but somehow it always rains during p-days. We ended up playing in the gym again and got to play Tongan Dodgeball and spy fall with our district. If you are wondering what those are … I don't either but it was super fun! In the end, I got talked into getting a McFlurry with tons of oreos!!!
During the week we helped the young woman set up for the luau (a fundraiser) and helped fold napkins over the silverware and got to know the girls more as they sat down all around us. They decorated the gym full of cutouts of surfboards and painted them along with setting up flowers, tables, and costumes. It was super fun to go, help, and listen to music… I miss Polynesian music so much ahah. After we held an English class and played a fun game about knowing directions that involved a fun maze !!
A few days after we went to the actual Luau and the members were so sweet enough to pay for all of us. We got to watch the youth do a Samoan dance for us which was SOO AMAZING. We also got to see other professional Polynesian dancers. During the whole show we got to eat Tongan food along and received lots of cookies … (3 different members bought us cookies they were super generous) . They had bought us these Pillsbury egg cookies that were the bomb !!! (If anyone knows the recipe please email me ) Anyways after that I fasted with my companions and Nahum for the night and the next day to help him receive an answer!

☆ Nahum finally got engaged to his girlfriend and we started a 24 hour fast with him to help him find his answer to the Book of Mormon and he is starting to make progress !
☆ Had a lesson with Alfredo (a person who wants to be baptized) along with our member Yasmine at IN N OUT! He bought us food to eat! We taught the first part of the plan of salvation and read a scripture that was exactly from his dream and it grew his testimony more that the church is true. He is wanting to change his life completely
☆ We had 3 recent members come to church!!!! We invited Marco to come because he hasn't come in a while and we promised to bear our testimonies at church. When we did he bore his testimony right after and we really felt the spirit!!
☆ Met this inactive family that was English-speaking because some members had said they don't like elders going over to this specific family and they liked sisters more. So we went to go visit and got to know them and they had lots of problems but seemed to like me because of my ethnicity and my views on things and said if anybody was going to convert them back and come to church it would be the sister missionaries ahah.

Interesting Things That Happened:
○ Fasted for 24 hours of my life … breathing was not the best but I really put trust in Christ to get me through it, it honestly wasn't that bad!
○ I bore my testimony at church, simply about the gospel blessing families and the love of god for all of us then our recent member bore his after
○ Watched 90s videos on gospel library….It isn't a 90s video without time-traveling. Learned more than I ever have from those videos
Agency, justice, and mercy, and inviting people to church, the judgment of God, hearing the spirit, and praying
○ Had interviews with president Z and had a district council along with some cinnamon buns !!
○ Invited tons to come and watch the general conference…. You should too!
○ I ran for 30 mins straight!!! Pretty dang proud of myself and my companions for that.

Spiritual thought:
Well, all I can suggest is to watch 90's gospel videos … They taught me more than anything and my knowledge grew so much ….Now, this is not the right way to do it because I could say of course read the scriptures and pray more but if you want a laugh yet spiritual messages please visit the gospel library and watch them. I finally learned about the law of justice and the law of mercy with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
On to a short yet uplifting message … BE A PALM TREE during a hurricane. Be flexible during winds and tribulations and trust in the Lord with all your heart and he will get you through anything in life! It's easier said than done but hey… there's no growth in the comfort zone. We can't always take the easy way because we don't want to do the work. FAITH TAKES ACTION… so do what the Lord wants you to do!

Scripture: Alma 37:36 & 37
36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou lie down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou rise in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
